American beer, American Glass, American bar towel, American-themed frame on the wall.

Are you sure you're a Swede?

The beer is technically English and American. I am most certainly a Swede, but I do love me some 'Murica...

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Not much going on today as usual. Got a nice new beer haul yesterday morning. Got to take back my bottle returns and do the laundry today. Might fire up the laptop to catch up on some work for tomorrow. Need to pack up my box for the NBS BIF today as well. Just need to figure out what all I will send my target. Shouldn't be too difficult.

    Beers this morning:

Awesome DIPA. Haven't had this is a while. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; some honey and lightly toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Large sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness; very crisp/sticky/resinous mouthfeel with some grainy/creamy malt balance. Medium bodied. Moderate increasing resinous dryness, with little/no hop astringency. Awesome range of hop character. Juicy tropical/citrus of Citra/Amarillo, and the spicy/piney/resinous of the Chinook. Very bright on hop flavors.

Insane NE DIPA! Aromas and flavors of huge passion fruit, papaya, peach, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, guava, berry, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bready malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body. Bready/grainy wheat creaminess and some hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, never astringent. Absolutely unreal amount of drink-ability. Minimal warmth of 9%. Tropical fruit smoothie in a glass. A bit of dank, but is truly pure juice on hops. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling for the ABV. Identical level of quality to Old Nation, Trillium etc on the NE style. No harsh/overly drying finish, just the perfect amount of bitterness. This was my last can, need to go find more for sure!

2015 is tasting insane as usual. Flavors of caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with some lighter notes of molasses, vanilla, and coconut. Light balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness. Minimal warming ABV or barrel booziness. Very smooth sipping; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and slightly slick/syrupy full body mouthfeel that is amazing. Touch of drying bourbon/oak tannins. Love this the most after at least 1 year of age to smooth out the boozy barrel notes. Perfectly balanced. Grabbed 2 more packs of 2015 off the shelf earlier in the year. Glad that this just sits on the shelf, one of my favorite cellar beers ever. I finally had Cinnsanity recently, and I think it is just as impressive. This one just keeps getting better every time I have it. I will be grabbing some 2016 off the shelf really soon, they are nearing their 1 year mark. This is a beer I always need to have around.

Awesome stuff. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, chili pepper, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, coffee, and smoke. Light roast bitterness and bourbon/oak/pepper spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied. Nice bready/grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel; slightly silky, sticky, chalky, and tannic. Lightly drying. Lightly warming 11%, zero barrel booze, very minimal pepper heat lingers. Really impressed with this one. Malt, spices, and barrel balance were pretty much perfect! Never overdone on the chili/spices, good flavor presence without the heat. Great complexity, and insanely smooth. Glad I got 2 4 packs. Not my favorite DM, but this does the Mexican stout style some good justice.

This is one of my favorite beers to have with a big breakfast on a Sunday morning, though it may not be such a good today since I will be heading to the gym later this morning for a lower-body training session involving heavy squats.
