Darkness Day 2017

They haven't announced anything yet, however the year that they had both at darkness day (2015) so far has seemed to be a one off based on circumstance. No way to know for sure for now, AFAIK.

 

Side note on BA Darkness. Opened a 16 today it was tasting superb @ 1 year old.

 

This reminds me. I have a 15 & 16 sitting in the cellar. Do I do the side-by-side before Darkness Eve, or bring them to Darkness Eve. hmm.. decisions decisions.

This will be my first Darkness Day and I will be unable to camp Friday night... will I still be able to get a bottle of Darkness if I show up at around 9 when the doors open?

 

On tap yes, in bottles, not likely. There have only been once or twice in the last several years you could have shown up that late & still picked up bottles. Pray for bad weather, that will increase your chances.

 

Or wait til the following week , and you will have a good chance at retail to purchase.

 

Well seeing as itll be unlikely Ill be able to get a bottle on Darkness Day... anyone want to buy an extra 2 and sell them to me??

 

Why not just wait and buy them retail when they hit? It says you're in MN. Are we missing something?

 

I was just hoping to walk out of Darkness Day with a bottle of Darkness... it'll still be a good time and everything but it almost feels like it will defeat the purpose of the day.

 

You can always get in the line later in the day when they sell the left over stock.

Normally 4pm, but people start lining up at about two if I recall. I wouldn't be totally surprised if there is a little less demand, so I'd still see if wristbands r available when u get there. I mean the last 5 places I walked into in the last few weeks have all had 2016 darkness sitting out.

Will there be any Darkness Day after parties or events? I might not be able to make it up til after 6pm.

 

There will probably be some group naps to sleep off our hangovers from Friday.

 

That's what I figured. I couldn't find any events going on Saturday night. I may have to skip out of work and come earlier. A buddy and I were thinking about coming up the day before the Ravens/Vikings game to enjoy some festivities.

 

Plans changed! I was able to change my work schedule.

The person that made the spreadsheet the last two years deleted it, so I made a copy and updated it.

I will further update what I'm bringing later. Since I have become jaded after years of non-stop imperial stouts on Darkness Eve, I plan to bring mostly sours. If anyone is planning on doing a sour-focused table, let me know.
