A big shout out to @SawDog505 for this barrel aged goodness! The MC2 I started with was an intense hop bomb (in every good way). Better for my palate to tame it down a little before hitting another hoppy beer this evening. So far 2 for 2 and batting 1.000. More good shah right here!

Found a bottle of 2014 Double Bastard on the shelf today, so I grabbed it. Three years old and delicious. No alcohol burn, just sweetness, with a bit of hop bite.

Good evening, all! Late supper, just finished grilling a ribeye to perfection. Now I'm taking a page out of @vabeerguy's book and enjoying a can of wine with my meal: Infinite Monkey Theorem Red. Wanna know what the next big thing is? You're lookin' at it.

I have had Natty Greene beer before. In fact, my kids gave me for Father's Day a few years back a gift certificate to a B & B by the brewery. And my friend @Dragginballs76 gave me an awesome beer box not long ago of six great beers plus six Natty Greens (I have yet to file a hernia claim trying to lift the box off the porch). I saw this beer today and had to buy a sixer.

Excellent fruited saison this year as expected. Flavors of lightly tart pineapple, mango, peach, lemon, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate spicy yeast against malt on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced wheat creaminess and spicy yeast stickiness in the mouthfeel; touch of fruit acidity and wheat tang. Light-moderate increasing spicy yeast dryness. Very refreshing and well balanced. Will be buying singles again.

Always excellent, one of my favorite classic tasting Midwest IPAs. Flavors of bright/juicy grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted biscuit malt balance; and floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness. Balanced sticky/resinous hops and bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Touch of lingering rind. Chinook, Cascade, Centennial. Can't go wrong with those hops. Great malt balance without being overly sweet. Need to keep this in the fridge more often, but with all of the new IPAs around lately; it has been absent for a while this year.

Always delicious! Finally found a fresh 4 pack a few weeks ago. We didn't get any last year. Flavors of big pumpkin, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, caramel, and herbal spice earthiness; with some light raisiny dark fruit notes in the back. Light balancing herbal/spicy bitterness against the malt sweetness. Medium-full bodied; creamy/bready mouthfeel; with a bit of drying spice stickiness. Minimal warming 8%. Definitely my favorite as far as darker/sweeter/malty pumpkin ales go. Lots of complexity going on. Great balance and not overly spicy. Super smooth for the ABV. Will definitely be grabbing this again where I know it's available.

Awesome as usual. Big flavors of juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toffee, toasted biscuit, and light nutty malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Balanced bready creaminess and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Minimal warming ABV. Always delicious year after year. Might pick up a full 4 pack. Very similar to Lake Erie Monster from the Simcoe hops, but with darker malt character.

Beer Geek Breakfast, 7.5% ABV. Pours black with a slight tan head. Nose is coffee, citrus, and chocolate. Taste is mostly strong coffee, with a slight bitter close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent. I like this better than FBS since the bitterness doesn't overpower the coffee taste.

I don't know what is with me, but here I am, yet again with another compiled post of my contribution to the state of craft brewing...
    Round 1:
It is Sunday in the Fall and there is nothing more appropriate than my favorite Pumpkin Ale:
Whatever your bias, The Fear remains a perfect 5 for me with regard to Pumpkin Ales. This is everything I look for in the style (substantial and 'buttery' body with dark (chocolate) malts and spices kept in check).

    Round 2:
Knowing my Avatar, you will rarely see me without this making a showing:
...despite some contributors, the coffee is still a major player in both the aroma and flavor. My favorite will always be the 2015 vintage, but this ranks in a close second.

    Round 3:
Although you are free to check out my post on NBS, Plasma (Element Brewing & Distilling Co. is one of my favorite DIPA's...not to mention, Gluten Free!:

Cheers and wish everyone a great start-to-the-week!
