What beer are you drinking now? #1809

Mrs. Z says I'm on dinner and drinks tonight, so what the heck, another lager and a short gin on rocks with lemon slice, to start:



Sautéed veggies, diced broccoli stalk, jalapeño, leek and funghi, prior to adding sauce (my mom is/was Sicilian and never once growing up with all her kin (some from off the boat)) around did anyone ever call red sauce, "gravy"...:



Then assembly, with some shredded mozzarella on mine:



Dinner, simple and fairly healthy - Cheers!

Citra Hops.
Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a hazy, light golden body with sticky lacing. Nose of citrus, some tropical fruit, a little pine, and grapefruit pith. Taste of citrus, tropical fruit, and a bitterness from pine and pith. Very nice feel on this and overall a delicious example of an IPA with a wonderful bitter finish. Cheers to the Stowe crew for this one!

 

First day of class started back this morning. Need something strong!

This will do nicely. Bought this a few months back, been sitting in the wine fridge @ 50° since.


Big barrel presence, really roasty, some alcohol sweetness. Massive beer; but very well executed. Smooth drinking for almost 13%.

Jekyll makes some nice stuff. I enjoy that one from time to time!

A new beer (to me) before bed, a Euro Lager from France - "Saint-Omer" by Brasserie de Saint-Omer, Saint-Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France:



Easy, bready, lite malty biscuit; no spice or floral hop, or DMS...just clean crisp and a welcome change of pace from the Spanish lagers I've been drinking so far this week. Closing up shop on this side of the Atlantic tonight - until tomorrow - Cheers!

 

It's funny, but the towns here in Costa Del Sol region snuggle right up to the beaches with names like "Palm Beach", "Bikini Beach", etc. The mountains come right down to the towns which then are on the sands of the Mediterranean Sea. I'm starting to appreciate why the folks from colder climes in the U.K./ Europe retire here! Cheers!
