I did find it thin, and over all a bit "off". Somewhat fruity, but with an odd dryness, like bubblegum that's lost its flavor.

I feel like Illuminated is close, but not quite ready for prime time.

I'm not writing them off, but I might skip a few & check back in.

Also, time to beat the dead horse: I hate their bomber format.

Aren't they 750s? (but yes, your point stands and I agree).

Not quite sure on exact volume, but it's "too damn high".

Maybe it just seemed thin because I've been drinking a lot of Corridor brews lately. Those seem to be pretty thick.

The Hubbard's Cave 11/13/17 with Mosaic and Simcoe is a malty sweet bomb. Not sure what's going on with the Untappd ratings. Love the HC beers in general but this one is a miss for me

Had Hazy Vale...very underwhelming. This tastes like Fanta with a dollop of caramel & a hint of dry wheat.

I get that it's a 5% pale ale, not some triple dry hopped DIPA, but you can do much better in Chicago these days.

I know the 750 format is divisive, but that new Saint Errant Basic Set is pretty nice

I've got to disagree. I thought for a 5% APA, this was about as good as I've had from around here. Was much better than their Chi-PA offering.

Sure would be nice if RAM was still making good juice. Or any juice.

I thought that Justin's Mango Whisk was a fantastic iteration of a milkshake style IPA. His previous Instagram post alluded to variants in the future. Hopefully we see one soon. I wouldn't totally count them out of the IPA juice/haze game just yet.

I thought the milkshake was just ok. Pretty thin and a little lacking in the flavor department. Not even close to Tired Hands milkshake level.

And that was 2 months ago...

Anyone try the new batch of Stratus yet? Canned maybe a week ago?

This Hubbards Cave V6 is what I was expecting from Hubbards Cave long ago.

Perfect Carb. Amazing aroma. A hint of bitterness to go along with juicy aroma and a pretty lucious mouthfeel. Also much more pale than other recent batches.

Best beer I've had from Une Anne or Hubbards to date.

And for the record I completely agree with this review. I have not been able to finish the last few offerings.

I'll be going back for more V6

Agreed. I really liked the first canned haze from Marz. Their ChiPA series is a tad malty, and hit or miss on the hop recipe.

I could have drank can after can of hazy vale, so I'm hopeful for Overhaze

All of this. Was pleasantly surprised by Hazy Vale as I thought it was very crushable at that nice low abv. Bought a 4 pack of Overhaze and hoping for the same results.

hey so that new Marz beer Overhaze is no joke and really legit. Was really surprised by this one. Really thick. Definitely recommend it if you've been staying away from their NE beers, this one will definitely surprise you.

Fine, you've got me curious. I actually liked the first (draft) batch of Midway ChiPA, although it wasn't fully to the style the way we currently expect. I've been meaning to try another one of their NE style beers, and putting them in cans is the easiest way to make me pull the trigger!
