Headed to Durham next weekend with my dad and a buddy of mine...looking for any recommendations of places with good grub and good craft beer selection...we are staying at the Cambria Suites near Duke if that helps...thanks!
Musts: Sam's Quik Shop (bottle shop w/ taps), The Federal (gastropub), Barrel Culture (brewery specializing in fruited wild ales) Worthy: Ponysaurus, Bull City Burger & Brewery and Fullsteam (breweries), Beer Study (bottle shop), Tyler's (restaurant with a variety of draft options) If you like Barrel Culture, please don't tell anyone because those guys are about to blow up in a big way.
If you go to Barrel Culture you should also eat at Kokyu Na'Mean before or after. Best sandwich in Durham. You could also do Back Yard BBQ which is right there, and imo the best bbq in the Triangle. Hell eat at one, go drink, then eat at the other
We love to have you at Fullsteam! This coming weekend we're releasing a kettle sour IPA and an imperial stout (and some variants) so it should be a good time. Cheers, Sean
Sam's Bottle Shop in Southwest Durham will be doing a wicked weed tap takeover with red Angel framboos morte dark arts and actually everything from the funkatorium. It'll be the only place in the state ever have this kind of lineup
I wonder why they are letting this stuff into the market now? Have they seen a dip in sales or an upturn on production?
I know I haven't bought a WW beer since the acquisition. I'm not sure how many people feel the same way.
I've bought a couple, nowhere near as before the acquisition. To be honest though, my WW purchasing was already on a down-swing before the acquisition as I was just getting burnt out on WW.
Na'mean has such outstanding sandwiches! The play I normally make is to get a sandwich carryout and go to the nearby Glass Jug.
