I knew it a long time ago, actually first time I had a real conversation with Mike trying to convince him to speak to our home brew club back when they had just started getting a bit of local buzz at Bacchus.. It was obvious he was a genius brewer.

This was reinforced greatly first time I tasted Lilith.

Wish I hadn't blown my beer budget I really want to get to Hudson Valley now

Pirouette was the first one from Bacchus I had and it was one of those remember-where-you-were-when-you-had-it beers. Simply perfect.

Was going to hit up the can release this Saturday at noon.
    Never been to HVB.
Typically how early should you get there for a can release.
I'm use to Treehouse and Other Half so I was thinking get there around 11am.
And is there a trade scene in line there?

    Thanks!

Hey folks, never had or been to Hudson before. Assuming 10 am will be good for tomorrow? I'm leaving VA at 1 am and just burning rubber (within the law) to get there tomorrow. Then I'm thinking about continuing on to Tree House's new location. Anything else that's easy and really worth it along the way? I know Magnify and Troon are on my way back but I'd only be looking at bottles or cans for take away. Thanks guys. Glad I get to see another part of the country I haven't spent much time in.

Love Hudson Valley and the beer, but they need to work on speeding up the line. Can we donate to an iPad fund?

I thought the line moved pretty well.
Was 73rd in line and by the time the doors opened it was about 40mins until I had my allotment, glasses and even got crowlers from the bar.
That was also one of the best line shares and trade scenes I've seen in awhile while waiting all morning too.
The free breakfast burritos from the local butcher shop was a definite plus also.

Can anyone recommend a spot nearby to go pumpkin or apple picking? I'd like to head up one weekend soon to check out the brewery, but if I'm dragging the wife along I might need something of interest to her along the way.

I went up a few months back. Dia Beacon->Lunch->Brewery is a good way to go. If you're coming from the city it's all accessible from the Beacon train station, and you can grab a crowler for the train back too.

Dia is a contemporary art museum with mostly minimalist art which can be a tough sell, but a lot of the installations there are pretty cool. The train there on the Hudson gives you nices views the whole trip too.

Scored a can of Amorphia today. This is my first experience with Hudson Valley, but you can officially color me impressed. The strawberry shortcake comparison is spot-on. This is easily in the running for "desert island beer."

I remember shooting the shit with Jason about sours back when he worked at Bacchus, awesome to see what they've done with the style. ISO from here on out.
