Absolutely. To clarify, I only get up to TH a couple times a year, which I really enjoy. I read this thread to stay updated with the business, see and hear about what's new and stuff like that. But, discussion in this thread has a tendency to skew towards can release lines and speculation on milkshake releases, which unfortunately for me leaves a very bad taste in my mouth regarding the business and affects how I remember them, and my desire to go back. So the point I was trying to make to someone who has never been, is that the actual experience of going is much better than this thread would have you believe.

Some perspective. The population of the Delaware Valley Metro Area is approximately 7 million people. National surveys find about 40% of Americans are beer drinkers. Since we're not in the Bible Belt, that percentage is likely a lot higher here.

4 to 5 million Beer Drinkers >> Craft beer drinkers > Beer Advocate types > 200 people willing to wait 5 hours to pay $73 for a half a case of beer

99.9% of beer drinkers spend 30 seconds buying beer.

If you wanted the shake you could show up at 4pm yesterday. If you wanted either stout, on OV Day, you had to be in line before or at noon.

Glad you had the luxury of going later in the day.. you just assume everyone has the same? You figure if someone does something differently than you its wrong? People have been bitching about sidewalk space and parking way before the Ferm.. this isn't new.

I'll tell you I think Leaves II is one of THs most underhyped beer. It's freaking awesome and no one is talking about it. If they do Leaves III this week I'll be gabbing some hopefully.

So you "didn't have the luxury" of spending 5 minutes there after 3pm but you were able to spend 7+ hours there from 7am - 2pm?

Since my Sunday timeline is of such great importance to you that's actually correct. However, I was back on the turnpike by 1. Its really nice having the peace of mind going to the brewery knowing you are definitely getting a full allotment rather than chancing it or traveling over an hour just to be disappointed. If you like to live your life dangerously keep showing up at 3-4pm and let me know how you make out with future high demand releases. My guess? You'll be in the ISO: FT section. Cheers!

Yeah wow, can we chill please and move on.

I had a Coffee OV last night when I got home. I definitely think the Berry OV is better, but that's my opinion. The berry really pops, it's awesome.

Did anyone here go to FoFA this year? Apparently one of the beers Tired Hands brought was Prayer Group. It seems weird as it's a hoppy pilsner, not a wild ale or saison by any stretch. From what I understand the more recent batch of Prayer Group was aged in oak foudres. I wonder if the FoFA batch was foudre-aged also, or was that a unique batch they brought?

The line at Bella Italia pizza was really short on Sunday. its a short walk from the Ferm, & they still had plenty fresh cans of beachwood aged + variants.

Everyone goes crazy for the milkshake beers, and while I have no doubt that they are good, but to be perfectly honest, Alien Church and some of their IPAs, and even their lagers, interest me as much or more than the milkshake stuff. So I may have better luck acquiring those. Haha.

They are good, some are better than others. But you are right, they have some other really great beers that you can get without the hassle. Hopefully you make the trip and enjoy it.

Honestly? If it's not a shake, no matter how awesome the beer is (and of course excluding OV) there aren't lines any more pretty much. Come on a Wednesday, grab some cans in short order and move on. It's pretty much come down to that. And to be more honest? I think the shake hype will die some time in the near future too....JMO.
