I can confirm that I returned 3 bottles (1 empty & 2 unopened) this past Monday and got $30 a piece at the bottle shop. No questions asked. They confirmed through a Facebook private message to me that they were taking back both unopened and empties. Still no official recall that I’ve seen though. Hope that helps.

This $90 gift card is burning a hole in my pocket now!

Commendable that they are doing refunds, but it should really be cash not credit at FFF. I understand that only locals would be returning them, but i just don't see that as fair. They made a mistake (or believe they did with enough conviction) to give refunds. I should be able to spend my refund wherever I want, not just at the store that screwed up something that I am returning.

Or they could just not take it back at all....Given that in the past FFF has given me a gift card for values of 2x what I paid, I can't really complain about their refund policy.

Well, that's important information. Yea - if they give you 2x value, hard to complain about not getting a cash refund.

If they are just giving you back what you paid though, there's no reason it should not be cash. Every other store in the world refunds in cash - makes no sense why they should be any different.

I think it's more than fair in this situation. Try taking back beer that you bought from your local grocery store 7 months ago. Probably getting denied altogether on that. I don't think this beer is infected, it has just changed in flavor by the cherry taking over. It's a perishable beer that you're taking a chance by cellaring.

I've taken back bad alcohol in every state that I have lived in to the grocery store that I purchased it at (wine and beer - I buy few spirits and no bad experiences yet). Always got a cash refund.

Alcohol is like any other commodity. If they are going to refund it, it shouldn't be "well, we'll give you your money back...but only if you shop here again!". Just like any other refund for any other commodity return at any other store.

I really don't understand why this would be any different. If you're allowing refunds, you should refund the correct way.

Interesting. I called about 2 weeks ago and spoke to Mike (Pub Manager?). He was super cordial. I explained I opened a bottle - took 3 sips and drain poured it. I have 3 more unopened. He told me to bring all 4 there and they will give me a cash refund for the 4 bottles - he did not say anything about a store credit. FFF gets ragged on a lot for their customer service - they have always been great to me and Mike was just another example.

Nope. Only 1 time was I ever asked for a receipt, and they ended up looking me up in their system (see below).

Stores keep records. If required, they (any store) could have looked me up by my form of payment (Credit card - I never pay cash). It's just how much hassle they are willing to go through and whether they think it's worth making a customer unhappy vs. a drop in the bucket and making them happy.

This never happened consistently, so no one has ever needed to worry about abuse of the system.

Opened my Rue this weekend. Cherry was prevalent and slightly tart but not overpowering. I got more fudge notes than anything. no sign of infection whatsoever, and pretty tasty. I've had it mostly cold-stored/refrigerated since I got it, so I don't know if off flavors would've come through otherwise.

I drank my second one just for the sake of having a beer. Man.. what a miss.

And I even have seen sites online claiming it to be the highlight of a festival. Maybe 3 Floyds is happy with it but damn.. not good.

It's much more tolerable as it warms but still not worth it

I had a pour at Whole Foods a month or so ago and the only reason I finished it was because it was like $10. There was nothing "IPA" about it. I thought I was drinking Kasteel Rouge or Duchesse

I've had a few ipas with Brett and am convinced I just don't like them. I passed on charro but gave it some serious thought. Thankfully my common sense kicked in. Knowing FFFs over the top mentality I kinda figured it would be like drinking dirty gym socks.

It was like drinking cherry juice. It was disgusting. Makes me sick they have the audacity to dip it in wax and charge $20 a bottle. ************s....

Brett IPAs with fruit added just come off as a bad batch of beer they tried to salvage with funk...I mean who is craving a Brett IPA. I literally don't know anyone that's ever said, "you know what I feel like? A BRETT IPA DUH!>!!."

There's a guy in my cohort that is a bit younger than the median, and certainly younger than my old ass (by comparison). He says the phrase "XD" when he would have typed a face like that.

    I bet he'd say that.

    If he drank.
