Another question...is it OK to bring coolers or backpacks into the event?

We're planning on getting dropped off by an Uber early in the morning and would like to bring some local beer and homebrews to share while waiting in line.

You can’t bring beer into the event, but you can have it in the wristband line. You’ll probably want to find someone with a car that will let you store your cooler while you go into the event.

Oh man... can’t wait for this. It’ll be my 3rd Darkness Day, and the HIGHLIGHT is always Darkness Eve! Going to be bringing some Casey, Bellwoods, Nibs and Beans Speedway, 2017 Dark Lord, and a few other treats. Hope to meet up with some of you!

Just added my name to the sheet, my disclaimer is I can't get there until 10:00. Hopefully I'll still be able to park somewhere in the area. If I'm out in Caribou land it may limit what I can bring over to share. Regardless, I'm sure I'll be walking the line to see who's still up an active.

Info on the beers that will be available on Darkness Day.

“The something new is Cooper, a damn fine beer brewed with coffee and cherries. Locally roasted coffee, sweet and red tart cherries, and an oat/biscuit malt bill combine to recreate the experience of a slice of cherry pie with coffee “black as midnight on a moonless night” at the Double R Diner. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. This would be an excellent gift.”

The name Cooper is just a Twin Peaks reference.

Acidity. Isn't that something most people try to brew out of their coffee? A cup of black coffee and cherry pie is different than trying to combine the two in one. Does not sound good unless they found some wonderful balance.

Lighter roast profiles bring out brighter and more acidic qualities in coffee that are actually prized by coffee geeks. Starbucks super roasty toasty drip goes in the other direction, but in terms of what coffee lovers often cherish (which depends on personal preference) can be driven by more acidic components to have more floral, fruity or tea-like flavors. *Most* coffee beers veer towards roasty toasty, but I really cherish the ones that play to the flavor profiles I seek out in coffee.

Just a heads up to anyone coming early, the car line is on 46th Ave instead of Lake Dr.
