This is my take on the situation at the moment - wish they'd answer the "can you leave" question. I was fully in the camp of "thou shalt wait in line" until I read this thread and you guys made some good points. I realized I don't have the greatest answer other than the fact that, the people who stay to bottle share, who then are behind some people who leave and come back - that just sounds like it will cause CHAOS.

Yeah, pick somewhere else if this is your day and you don't have much time. Sucks, but I don't see how you'd be able to get in the establishment, eat lunch, drink a few beers on a "tight schedule".

True, but there’s really nothing they can do if they hand out tickets and people leave.

Goose Clybourn did it in the past,
I’m also a fan of the “not being able to overlook an inadvertent typo/autocorrect, and pointing out how it changes the meaning of the sentence”

I’d be surprised if they say “go ahead, get the ticket and come back!” Encouraging large groups of people to leave and come back would make things unnecessarily complicated and serves no benefit to anybody except the people really only have their own self-interest in mind. Just wait in the goddam line.

Early tickets with people coming back would be Villa Park's largest cluster ever. Just plan on getting in line and staying in line. Share a bottle. If you can't do that- then don't come.

I agree it could turn into a major cluster. But if they allow it, people will absolutely do it. If people are allowed to go spend their time elsewhere and come back, many of them will catch breakfast or run some errands, etc. I don't understand the need to act like a bully.

Mainly, I just wish they'd answer the question. It's been asked on the facebook post by a number of people.

@shaun_the_brewer - any feedback on this?

A good way to get the villa park cops to start acting like chicago cops is to introduce bickering and bullshit. We are already drinking in public in large groups at 8am on a Saturday. The reason why they're ok with it is likely because everyone is having a good time and nobody is causing any problems.

I certainly wouldn't consider this "Acting like a bully". I simply mean- don't make the situation more complex than it has to be. We have a decent thing going- we can share beers on the IL Prairie Path while we wait for a release. If you can't do the wait, want to get there at some absurd early hour and grab a ticket then leave- then I don't think you should be entitled to an allotment like those that do wait.

@YoDudeguy I agree with you. People need to ask themselves -- What if everybody did what I'm about to do? Sending a friend to go grab some food while you wait is reasonable. Multiple large groups of people all arriving at 10:55 and cutting back in a line that they left two hours before is going to piss a lot of people off and create unnecessary chaos (no pun intended :stuck_out_tongue:). It's a delicate balance with these things. We are definitely breaking the law and it only takes one loudmouth to fuck it all up for everybody.

I'm bringing my taser for line jumpers. I don't care if you have a numbered ticket already or not. If More intended for people to show up whenever to pick up their pre-alloted bottle, they would have done this by way of online ticket sales with a pick up window. Stand in line and earn your beer.

I agree with you guys it would be a cluster, but More is the one making and selling this beer, and they determine the rules. They haven't clarified this and people have asked in a forum where they answered other questions.

I live really close by. If I can go at 7 AM, get a ticket, then come back at like 11:15, I'm going to consider skipping any kind of share and going back to get some Saturday errands finished. If I was coming from further away, I'd be worried about parking again. But since I can walk, that's not an issue.

Yes, but interestingly, if you assume they let folks go early and then come back, people who do so are actually not breaking the law.

Well, thankfully they haven't answered. So you can just assume you go and stand in line like most other non-presale events and releases.

I love all the keyboard warriors who want to tell people how to "earn your beer," which apparently requires preserving other people's "rights" to get drunk in public at 8am. Blame More for creating the "complications" with the new rules.

Some of us with responsibilities are trying to figure out if the new system will allow us to participate or not. Wanting to know where More falls on the issue doesn't require aggressive shout downs from the peanut gallery. But this is BA, so some of you get off on that kind of thing.

Riiiiight. Or just like.... stand in line if you want it and don't if you can't or don't. Tickets sound like a way to ensure allotments and cut down line jumpers. Let it be that instead of turning it into some reservation bottle pickup that it clearly is not meant to be.

Hmmm... all this talk has me worried that someone isn’t just going to grab me a bottle because they like sharing.

I was originally in the camp of numbered tickets making it so that people don't have to wait in line for 5 hours prior to release and ensuring a relatively easy means to restore order prior to the onsale.

But then I realized that what will likely happen is whaleztradebro#1 will recruit whomever he can at that early hour to grab as many tickets as possible and whomever returns prior to 11 won't necessarily be the same group. Keeping folks in line will likely cutdown on the mules and might ensure that the beer gets in more people's hands. /overthinkingasituationIhavenostakein

Are you an official rep? No. Then what it "sounds like" to you doesn't make it "clearly" anything. Chewing people out who are asking for clarity so we can figure out if we are ABLE to participate, when your attitude is motivated only by a desire to keep breaking the law means I couldn't care less about your opinion.
