Not my favorite 3F brew.

 

We made it to Friday and I am sitting on so much great beer that it will be a great weekend for sure and late October 70 degree weather is predicted. Cheers all.

 

I have a few left also, not sure what happened to me this year but I have not been into Oktoberfest much this go around and its usually my fav. Cheers

I'm in the same boat as @tolar111 this morning, finishing up some lingering Oktoberfests. It's taking great restraint not to jump into some fresh IPAs I purchased yesterday.

This is not too bad and probably a little better than its rating. A curious observation about seasonal creep: this was canned 9/1/17 and there were cases laying around in my favorite Kentucky bottle shop. The Oktoberfests from August were nearly gone.

This is my day off/weekend so I'm in a good mode. Enjoy what's in your glass today BA!

 

Happy Friday! Some double-dry hopped Simcoe/Citra/Galaxy action for you all (Canned 10/3). I was really disappointed in my first can last week but this one tastes a lot better and closer to what I remember on tap.

 

Vacation is winding down. A perfect day in southern Maine. Looking forward to a round of golf tomorrow.

Clown Shoes - The Stranger Wheat IPA (16oz can).. cheers!

 

Opening up one of these . . .





Very attractive golden color with white cap and lacing.

Lightly spicy hops with a touch of resin supported by caramel malt.

Taste on entry is caramely malt with hop spiciness floating on top. Enough hop flavor to prevent this one from being just another caramel amber, a refreshing offset as it were, while carrying on through the finish then lingering in the aftertaste which remains malty as well.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Good effort here. The flavor is rich without being cloying and the hops provide enough bitterness to balance it out. Not just more flavor but better flavor than a run of the mill amber.

 

Starting birthday weekend right (after concert last night, The War on Drugs, amazing show) with an awesome cheeseburger (with "bacon" from an unnamed Chicago source with a Local Option Outlawger (Pilsner basically). Cheers!
