Probably some of both. A year ago, I would have made the 90 minute drive to pick up some Black Note. But I still have a few bottles left over from last year. I wouldn't mind a four pack but I don't want to drive that long for it. Especially knowing that a lot of great barrel aged releases are coming up in the next two to three months.

It was just two years ago and great barrel aged beers were still difficult to come by. You had to be on your game to procure these bottles. If they made it to retail, they did not last long. But a lot of brewers have stepped up their games in the last two years in regards to barrel aged beers. To the point that you are starting to see some of these great beers finally make their way to shelves.

That's promising. Any other states having sightings yet?

I know that Beertopia in Omaha, Nebraska received a shipment of Black Note earlier in the week.

Tis a good sign. Too bad it's headed in the wrong direction!

Ah this makes sense. Our waitress seemed a little confused as is and when I asked her if the "E" was for expedition she said yes. Whatever it was, I enjoyed it.

This. Driving 90 minutes for 12 bottles of (excellent) beer was one thing when it hadn't seen a release for a couple of years. Not only to get some for myself, but to have it to send to friends in markets that traditionally saw piddling amounts of Black Note.

Now we're on the third release in 16 months, which not only means that I still have some left from the previous releases, but it also means that I'm willing to go to less extreme lengths to get it. For this batch, I'm content to wait and see if it hits distribution rather than find time to take a 3-hour round trip drive.

Crazy and Awesome. It's great that Black Note and KBS have beer much easier to get this year. I hope this continues.

B1 hit distro in my neck of the woods (NW WI). I wound up several bottles, because nobody was buying it at my small town grocery store. I didn't even bother picking up any B2 when it showed up.

I can confirm it hit NC last Friday. Picked up two bottles (pp limit) that day at a local bottle shop and was psyched to try it for the first time (great great beer, whale or not). Lucked into 2 4-packs at another store today. Amazing b/c in years past this would be 1pp and sell out instantly around these parts. Cheers to Bells for making enough to go around so that first timers like me can try it, and have enough to enjoy with some age. I am not trading this under any circumstances FWIW.

Just stumbled on three 4 packs in Indy. Bought one for $26.99 plus tax. A little sticker shock. Didn't expect that. First time I've ever seen it in Indy so had to get it no matter the price. Score!

$25 at Bells so you're doing ok. Last year it was $29.99 at stores within a couple of miles of Bells

It’s also about the standard price for a high quality BA stout 4-pack. BCS was between $25 and $30 when it was in 4-packs.

Look at it as a $13 bomber.
