Very nicely balanced, perhaps even too nicely, as nothing really seems to stand out about this one. Still very enjoyable though.

Because one 330ml Duvel ain't enough for a thirsty man. I might as well drink the 750ml...

Good morning, BAs! I'm officially on vacation, and most of it will be spent at home. May as well start the no-longer-a-work week right.

Grilling ribs on a cold rainy morning because I was too lazy to cook yesterday. Almost two inches in the rain gauge already making for a very wet autumn after a dry summer. The leaves are dropping faster with each passing day. I haven't seen any of this beer around here, but managed to buy a couple six packs in Denver. Lucky me!

Cheers all, let's have a great week!

Having this one for the first time. Glad they canned it and it is a wee bit more affordable, at still $9 - $10 a can... Worth a try or two I would say. Wasn't getting too much in the aroma but the taste on this is pretty hefty with the doughnuts. Really unique and interesting dark beer. Cheers!

    Got a few of these left . . .

Attractive deep amber gold color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt with caramel, toffee and similar good smelling stuff. There is also a spicy, floral element to the hops.

Taste is malt forward as expected but what was unexpected is the dryness of such a sweet smelling brew. Malt flavor deepens mid palate yet becomes darker and definitely swings toward the dry end of the flavor spectrum. I get hops more as a seasoning rather than distinct flavor in the dish. Finishes clean with some lingering hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

Life is full of surprises. Like finding a Unibroue beer in a shop in the Netherlands. And even a lare bottle. Now having this A Tout le Monde (and thinking about ordering La Fin du Monde and Trois Pistoles online).

    Cheers!

I still can kick myself for not bringing my Unibroue glass home from Vancouver BC last year. At least I have some pictures ...

Another hour or so on the ribs means another beer. Going with one more heavy hitter as the cold rain falls down harder. I'm feeling an afternoon nap is on the horizon.

After a busy morning, long lunch with our friend, and a bit of a drive, we are settling into our room. A beer on the enormous balcony, looking SE at the beach hotels, sea, and port:

Looking SW at port and giant Ferris wheel:

Literally first time I'm alone with nothing pressing that has to be done. Having a Yards Pynk while staring at my 90 gallon planted tank and just trying to come down a bit[IMG]
