A top IPA brewery no doubt. I did, however, state earlier in this thread that I thought Grimm was a better brewery in terms of their ability to pump out high quality beers of varying styles, so there is that. I can't necessarily fault OH in continuously producing a particular style beer that basically prints them money on a weekly basis. And ultimately, I was just trying to get the guy excited about the tap takeover.

I wouldn't say it's a definitive list either, but if we are going to require criteria to back such statements up, it's certainly one of the less subjective benchmarks to use.

Does Grimm really have that much variety though? At least for this year it feels like they've basically put out the same variations on a theme each month. Some combination of 2-ish IPA/DIPA cans, a bunch of slightly different dryhopped sours, with an occasional Stout, saison or Belgian thrown in.

Perhaps this isn't a fair comparison since they don't have their own brewery so they can't crank them out like Other Half does. I'm interested to see what things will be like when they open up here finally though, hopefully more stuff like the Cuvee series.

Compared to OH they do. But yeah on the broader scale I feel like they get too much variety credit. They still focus mostly on beer nerd du jour beers. Take hazy (D)IPAs, sours and imperial stouts out the picture and there’s not a ton left

I have had some unbelievable Grimm beers, but they also haven't always been consistent from batch to batch. Not that I would expect them to given that they brew something like Lambo Door once every 6 months, at a facility that they don't own. But if we're going to say they are a "better brewery"than OH, I think consistency should be considered.

I guess Threes does pretty good on variety points then eh? I feel like they turn out more lagers than any other NYC brewery.

Though I gotta say, I think variety may be an over-valued metric of a brewery's "greatness" (influence and popularity?). It's not like the world's best lambic is being brewed alongside incredible IPA's and stouts.

In the mid-Atlantic region I think I give it to Kane. Full disclosure they are my favorite brewery.

But when it comes to stouts, barrel age stouts, porters, IPA, pale ale, saisons, Belgians, blondes, pilsner I think they do it all really well.

How long have the beers been lasting lately? What's the hype level on this Saturday? I might be able to roll through but wouldn't be until noon I believe...

Well they lowered the limits this week so no idea what that means in terms of how long things will last. But generally cans have been lasting into Sunday and even well into the week with exceptions of some of the more sought after beers that are single batches. If you show up at noon I imagine you'll at least get something but I'd say there is a good chance that 1 of the beers will be sold out before then.

Damn, why am I just now having Smokescreen? This stout is fucking delicious.

Opted-ed for growlers of AIE, AEE. By the way, that's a second batch of the Enigma right? Chimera was OK.

Did we ever get confirmation on whether or not there is a double batch, and if so, which beer?

I may be wrong, but I don’t think double batches are as common as you all think they are.

Please @Kanger tell us which is the double. Please don’t say there isn’t one. It would be so very, very upsetting

I don't think I've ever been to a weekend release in the past 6 months that didn't have a double batch except maybe Potatoes? Maybe I just get lucky with the releases I've decided to go to?

Hey guys psyched to see oh coming to now and later in cuse! Of course I have a family engagement that day until around noon or so. Any idea what case quantity/batch size of the 3 beers is being brought to cuse ? I see it is a case limit per beer and I'm guessing they're going to get a pretty monster sized crowd so hopefully I can at least get a 4 pack of each variety. Thanks for the help. Oh is my
Favorite brewery and glad we are getting a special central ny release day
