Summit formally starts barrel program

Didn't Summit already introduce the Twin Cities with it's barrel age program 15 years ago? I could have swore I had something from them.

 

They did a cognac barrel-aged Herkulean Woods for All Pints North 2015 and a Knob Creek barrel-aged Dark Infusion for Winterfest 2017. Those are the only barrel-aged Summit beers I can identify in the database at the other site, which should go back to about 2000.

 

They did a Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Infusion in March that I believe only lasted a day and was tap room only.

 

Sorry didn't read the above post correctly apparently it was at winterfest as well.

 

I remember drinking Oatmeal Stout aged in Irish Whisky barrels a few years back.

 

They only got 8 barrels and BA variants of RIS and Westie 7th will be taproom only. Post suggests they may/will have BA beers for distribution in the future but for now this is draft/taproom only.

 

Count me in for some Rum BA beers!

 

Some of the rum-barrel-aged beers are going to Dark Horse Bar & Eatery, too.

 

@summitbeer, maybe you could prevail upon them to put a beer menu up on their web site!
