Right. The issue is with the child on the beer. I get that this is a not so subtle attempt to spell a bad word, but its far enough from actually doing so (if rather than ef) that they likely couldnt do much to stop it.

If you want some FBS, BM me. I have boat loads here. We can trade until your postman has blown his back out.

But seriously- I don't get some states issues with labels on alcoholic beverages. What kid is walking through the isles and begs his mother for beer because a kid like his fat ass, is eating oatmeal on the label.

If the label was approved on a federal level then why does it need to go through another layer of BS? No need to answer, I know it already ... it is a big can of worms. As Americans we can get products from pretty much anywhere, yet a federally approved beer label can't cross a state line cause someone has on underwear three sizes too tight. I'm in Concord most of the day tomorrow. If you catch me before I run my errands, I should be able to get you a case worth of FBS.

why was BCBS shot down in NH? can't be a label or ABV % problem

Who said anything about BCBS (Bourbon Country Brand Stout) getting denied? The last that I heard, BCBS was approved for distribution in NH earlier this year, and according to Goose Island's website, is on it's way to shelves as of a couple of weeks ago.

FBS (Founders Breakfast Stout - the original topic of this thread) was denied by the state liquor commission because it contains the image of a minor on the label. No hypocrisy at all from the state of NH with regards to the whole "If You See Kay" vs. FBS situation...

BCBS was denied in NH. Not sure why, but the state did not approve it.

BCBS has been in the NHD warehouse for the past several weeks. It was officially shot down by the state recently though, due to the 15% abv. It is supposedly getting sent back out for redistribution. This information came from my NHD sales rep here in Portsmouth. It was, however, served at the brewfest at Redhook two weekends ago which confuses me.

Strange, as Brewdog's Tokyo Stout is hanging out there at 18.2%, but authorized in NH. BCBS is 15%.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. We had brewdog Tokio at the 18% ABV so whats the issue? I thought I had heard something recently about NH getting rid of the ABV cap on beer, no?

So in short, even though I work at one of the states finest craft beer establishments, I still have to go out of the state to get the beers I really want. Thanks NH!

It's completely arbitrary. Dogfish Indian Brown was authorized, then de-authorized due to the addition of dextrose to increase ABV (7.2%). Recently it was re-authorized.

I understand the reason it was served at the NH brewfest was because the bottle label restrictions do not affect the kegs. No label on the keg with the child = okay to serve. The ABV restriction would still apply, so I can't speak to that being a factor. I was however, at the brewfest and didn't even see a Founders table, so beats me.

Semi-related, but what is the abv cap for NH? I can't think of anything more ironic and moronic than a state that allows people to ride a motorcycle without a helmet and drive without car insurance what will restrict the alcohol content on an alcoholic product.

It was the BCBC that was at the NH Brewfest and notably there was no line to get it. Sorry to heat that might have been the only chance for NH.
