I must confess to the Australia forum audience at large that I have a substantial drinking problem. One that has consumed my mind for the last few days.

How the hell am I supposed to drink all the IPAs I'm currently in possession of? I just have so many. I got so used to having approximately 0 IPAs of decent quality available to me, and then 40 come along all at once.

How will I possibly fit the Mikkeller Single Hop Series in between the Mikkeller Pseudo IPAs (85% of their beers, basically all the ones which aren't Imperial Stouts by a different name), the To Ol, the HeBrew, the Green Flash, all the **** Italian IPAs in those decadent decidedly unmarketable bottles, the Australian brewers who are no longer festering under the destructive eye of parochialism (thank vancurly and scottymorgan before he was reborn as someone who actually appreciates hops more than its close botanic relative), the everything....

How does one really deal with an intense stream of delectable imports coupled with a local brewing industry which has finally moved into the 21st century en masse?

Option 1) Stop buying so many IPAs and purchase beers that you can cellar/at least not worry about drinking fresh.

Option 2) Step your game up and just drink more

Option 3) Get another fridge and dedicate it to "hoppy beers" so they will at least stay as fresh as they can.

Option 4) Make friends with someone who also likes good beer and share bottles, you'll consume them much faster.

Option 5) A combo of all of the above.

P.S. I don't live in Australia, other wise I would help you out with #4.

I have 300 bottles in my beer cellar. My beer cellar does not include my beer fridge or any of my home brew, or the copious amounts of beer I take home every week.

    Toughen up Daniel!

Going out on a limb and assuming you don't have a mortgage, wife, kid, etc. The problem you speak of suddenly becomes "How do I afford all those ipas?"

Also, let it be noted this is the first time in history an Aussie hasn't lived up to his reputation of drinking a shitload

Take annual leave and get the job done.

What you should do is lock yourself, Mr Kennedy, Mr Spicelab and Mr Mulder in a room with 80 IPAs and film it. I'm sure by beer 40 it would start to become a very good youtube video.

This is not a problem. To much beer is never a problem. Not enough beer is always a major fucking problem.

    I have a 7-step never-fail program for you.

    1) Find good beer
    2) Buy beer
    3) Drink beer
    4) Realize you're an alcoholic
    5) Join Alcoholics Anonymous
    6) Accept yourself as an alcoholic
    7) Repeat process...
