CANBIF, fall 2017.

Hey all,

I'm pretty stoked about this round of CANBIF and I'd like to thank @Electros for putting it together.

I have ZERO expectations and look forward to drinking a whole bunch of new stuff, but I am ISO a few things, namely hazy IPAs, BA adjunct stouts and Barleywines.

If my sender is from the West Coast, I'd kill for Twin Sail and Superflux haze.

If my sender is from the East Coast, I'd kill for some Trailway and Unfiltered.

If my sender is from Quebec, I'd kill for Auval, Boreal and Wild Shack.

Most of us un Quebec would kill for some Auval as well, but dont worry, they sell Boreal in gas stations and Provigos out here, its extremely easy to find

 

I havent done the BIF in a year or so, whats the best way to send it, regular Canada post? Expedited? I remember getting some kind of small business account last time, but cant recall why, or any details

I like any type of beer but my favourites now a days have got to be IPA's, I'm a huge hophead. Also love imperial stouts, but honestly will be open to anything I haven't tried. I keep my had's/ gots fairly up to date so feel free to check it out (or if you prefer to look at untappd my account is https://untappd.com/user/CMatieshin). For anybody who is shipping to the 4 of us in Alberta you can also check out this site as it lists everything that's available in our province, http://www.liquorconnect.com.

My target is east of me in the province that holds my favourite NBA basketball team. I'll be out shopping this week and piecing together a few bottles from my cellar and then shipping it out by the end of the week hopefully before it gets below -10C.

 

Someone went dark, so I jumped in to fill the void.

I like most styles, but variety most of all. Lately I have really been enjoying fruit in my beer, whether it be sours, saisons, or IPAs. I suppose I am a bit of ticker in that I like to try new beers, but anything I have rated highly I will enjoy again, particularly if it is Auval Nordet...

My 'hads' are up to date here. I'll try to add what I have in the fridge and cellar.

My target is in a Province to which I have not shipped, but from which I have received a box. He/she has had a lot from the brewery that tends to dominate my boxes, but I have several in the cellar that he/she has not had and are already earmarked for the box.

Oh, I almost forgot. I have a trip to Maine right before the ship by window closes. If my target likes this post I will throw some Bissell, Foundation and Oxbow in, if they don't I'll assume they don't want them and find a new home for 'em.

 

Got my target info, now to start to strategize! I have both shipped and received a previous CANBIF box from my target's province. I'll be filling up a 12 shipper with bombers or equivalents!

For my sender, I am up to date on Untappd as Cellar_Dweller. I am a big fan of anything barrel aged, with Porters and Stouts being my go to style. Beyond that, any good Belgian tripel or saison also works for me. I have also been known to consume mass quantities of IPAs from time to time, especially during fresh hop season!

My fav's are BA anything and hoppy beers.
My least fav's are sours.
And i thoroughly enjoy everything in between.

As for my target you will soon be the owner of some of the finest beers Nova Scotia has to offer. Which is kind of approriate given how many of us have moved to your province

I like IPAs, imperial stouts, english barleywine, old ale, sour beers
I don't like beers with a lot of brett character or coffee beers

 

I'm a big fan of juicy and hazy IPAs, but I'm a ticker so I like almost everything but spiced beers. I'm also a fan of ciders and meads so if you want to send a box full of Schramm's feel free to do it! (or any cider or mead you like)

My gots are pretty much up to date (or will be soon) and I'm also on Untappd under the same username, so go ahead and had me up!

I really enjoyed every style of beers. Anything new or old favorite are welcome. My want list is really outdated so don't need to pay any attention to that. I am boutip on Untappd and Ratebeer if you want to check out my hads.

I like Gose, Berliner Weisse and Sours, but will happily drink anything new.

I'm big into hazy IPA & pale ales, the juicier the better. Also into sours, pretty well anything except light lagers.

 

Forgot to say that I'm also on the other site with the same handle. I'm also currently looking for brewery stickers, so if you have some you don't want, throw'em in the box!

My box is going East. Looking forward to getting my targets beer likes so I can get their box locked and loaded!

To the person who got me, I will update my 'wants' and haves on here very soon. I also have an untappd presence. Steve O. / 'dabeerbuddha'.

I love fresh hazy juicy IPAs and PAs, even decent Milkshake IPAs, saisons (Brett especially!), mixed fermentation sours (love them BA), BA stouts and quality beers in general.

I'm really NOT into barley wines, Wee heavies, brown ales and English style beers are low on my want list. Pilsners, lagers and kolsch aren't styles I typically drink but if it's a good beer I'll give it a try!

That said, if you like it and think it's good I'll probably like it too! Thanks in advance!

 

My target has yet to post, and they don't have an extensive hads list online that I can find, but I'm sure I can put something together.

I'm easy to please, I just want to try whatever you think are great local beers that I can't get here. Really appreciate anything in the top 100 I haven't tried, but don't worry too much about that.

I am sending a couple of boxes this year....one of my targets is definitely easier than the other to shop for based up their "hads"!

I'm new to BA and really excited to participate in my first CANBIF! Heard nothing but great things and looking forward to the experience!

I'm going to be upfront and say that I enjoy good quality brews. Style-wise, I lean towards fresh, juicy, and hazy hops (IPAs and pale ales), sours (BA, goses, and good kettle sours like Jelly King), saisons, and BA stouts.

Not a fan of malt bombs, rye beers, ESBs, brown ales, etc. Also don't typically reach for lagers, pilsners, and the like.

My Untapped page (hyperlinked) is updated regularly and would paint a better picture; I also would prefer being exposed to new-to-me brews and breweries.

To my target: you live in a city I've been longing to visit, a few time zones behind. I don't know much about you but it looks like you've had a wide variety of beers, but not a lot from my favourite brewery. Between that and upcoming travels prior to the shipping deadline, all I can say is: prepare to get spoiled!
