CANBIF, fall 2017.

To my sender:

I would like beers I've never had before. I'm a prolific ticker and have the user name on another site and that's where my reviews are stored. Just the basic request for good new stuff.

And thank you! This is my first time doing this so I'm pretty excited to be involved with this.

 

Faves for me is anything fresh and hoppy (pales, IPAs, hazy, juicy, etc) or anything on the other side (dark, stouty, barrel aged, etc). girlfriend is a big fan of sours so any good (especially fruited) sours send em along! would be good to get a mix of types some which i can drink now and some which i can cellar for later. Always wanting to try new things so if you have something interesting or unusual you enjoy send that along as well.

haves/wants are fairly upto date here on BA, and on untappd here. I don't get out east too often so always love to try new stuff, whatevers good in your neighbourhood!

Target havent heard much from you. I do have a bunch of fresh hop beers so hopefully you like hoppy stuff and ill try to get it put together and sent out soon!

 

To my sender, I’ve been known to consume beers of all styles, I’m new to this site and don’t have a list of beers I’ve had. I am on instagram and have posted a good portion of the beers ive enjoyed!

Some of my favorite styles are farmhouse, saisons, most things
BA or foudre ages especially wine barrel, wild ales and sours, just interesting beers really, that have some uniqueness. I don’t have too many specific wants but am a fan of breweries such as Anchorage and Jester King and Auval (if I had to pick favorites these three would be top) might be Anyone that

The only styles I typically don’t enjoy are Hefeweizen, anything smoked, black IPA’s, and beers heavy with lactose. But I’m open if you have one that you think is a must try!

The big thing for me is to try beers I can’t get around here and that are interesting. Odds are if you like it I will!

My target has yet to post. But they will be received a box stocked with interesting Nova Scotia and maritime brews that as far as I can tell from my digging they have not tried yet. If I had to walk to my target it would take be almost 46 days covering over 5000 km, and given the number of amazing beers they’ve had from some of my favorite breweries I just may have to hand deliver the box!

 

If they don’t want them I’ll take them! Haha. Even if they’d do you can always bring me back some

My favourite styles are anything barrel aged. But seriously, I prefer Porters - stout - Sour, second would be wild ales/saisons . I always enjoy a good IPA. It is alway a pleasure To taste new beer!

I started to fill my box at the moment... but not completed! . You have not posted your hint and haul here, but I find your post on CANBIF SPRING 2017. I Will wait for your new one

As for myself, I love stouts, ipa’s, sours that are well done, saisons, BA things, wild ales, etc. Basically any beer that is well made and you enjoy. I do not like black IPA’s, brown ales, or overly acidic sours. You can find my ticks here https://untappd.com/user/VanJamer

 

First, big thanks to Electros for organizing this CANBIF.

Not that I crave to be different but I will be.

My target is the wife who is in for her husband and she is also the sister of a member?!?!? Anyway, I got a "special" e-mail from Electros about the target's husband preferences (and hopefully they are hers too!) and will do my best to meet the list of styles that they prefer.

As for my Santa Claus, he contacted me directly via e-mail and thus will respond directly to him. The answer should be something like this:

I am looking for a 24 mix pack of Toppling Goliath (Kentucky Brunch, Morning Delight and Assassins). Just that!

By this, you have probably realized that my favourite style is Imperial Stout. I also like dry IPA and dry IIPA. I am also interested by any of the local beers that he can send my way.

I am not big fan of sours but they come in handy when I want to make some great tasting muffins.

 

My target is east of me, in a province I've sent boxes to in previous editions of CANBIF. Based on their post in this forum, what I have been setting aside will match their preferences nicely. I have a couple more places to visit so I can ensure Alberta is properly represented.

 

I'll switch this up and just give my "dont likes" since I like pretty much everything else:
Very strong (12+%) beers that fully taste 12% and more
Fruity beers. I like IPAs that taste like fruit, but not so much beers with actual fruit in it.

Big thanks to electros for putting this all together.
To my sender: I like beer, be it big and from a barrel, or funky, or well done. If you send me something truly horrible that's fun too; I will smile, curse your name, and then offer a drink to my friends.
To my recipient: I've been where you're from, it's west of me. I'll do my best to find things that you'll enjoy. Since the Nova Scotia beer scene is full of interesting decisions (both good and bad), I might have to take some creative licence in there as well.

 

to my sender, i like to try new things, so anything i cannot get around here is what i'm after. if anything i'm into sours right now, but as mentioned before, i really like anything.

to my target, i'm most of the way there, i've been setting aside some special releases for this. i just need to pickup a few things fresh.

 

I am shipping eastward to a province where every one of my previous 6 CANBIF boxes has come from.

 

Sent a 36lb, 16 multiformat war head porch destroyer on cruise to its destination today. The target has similar tastes to most that have posted so far as well as similar tastes to mine, which made the selection process not only easy be enjoyable. A mix of cellar and fresh scores, this box requires a signature to take possession of, so a little effort will be required to get your box of goodies if you aren't sitting at home waiting for it to arrive. Not sure you will have it this week but definitely early next week!

 

My target still hasn't posted yet, but I have been able to figure out some things they like and am trying to tailor the box accordingly. I've got a few things together, so I hope they like big beers, funky saisons, big beers, weird pumpkin porters, big beers, and barrel aged stuff. Once I figure out how much remaining space I have, I'll pick up some fresh goodies and ship early next week.

To my sender - I still like beer. Also cider and mead, if beer is too restrictive for you.

 

Oh yes, for God’s sake please no pumpkin beers for me!!
