If Born Yesterday doesn't show up in Columbus tomorrow I'm never gonna drink beer again!

Born Yesterday dropped in Kent yesterday, finally. This years batch is phenomenal, despite the delay. I like it a little more than Hop Stalker, but my friend had them reversed by a similar small margin. Columbus Yakima a hair below both.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I picked up the regular at Warehouse Beverage on Thursday but they only had three bottles left so I didn't bother posting it.

Heinen's on Green Road is having a Jackie O's tasting on 11/10 from 6:30-8. Will have 10 brews and Bourbon Barrel Champion Ground Imperial Stout on tap.

Btw, Xocaveza is available at Heinen's and Warehouse.

Finally got to try some yakama. I like hop stalker better. Just by a little they are pretty much the same beer. I think Yakima is more carbonated and I don't like that as much but really they are so close. I have a six pack of born yesterday I need to try

As an update, they were out of both @ 2:30 today but said to try Wednesday because more are expected.

If Yakima Fresh is better than Hop Stalker but Born Yesterday isn't as good as Yakima Fresh does that make Born Yesterday better than Hop Stalker?

This. Honestly though, the comparisons are getting so tiring. Let's all agree these are great beers and trying to rate one higher than another is like saying my dad can kick your dad's ass.

And I get that people are entitled to their own opinions, but I think we've had plenty chime in here with their own take of the same 3-4 wet hopped beers.

If only there was a website where you could write reviews and score beers on a system that automatically compared them to other beers.

I understand Hop Stalker and Yakima fresh being deemed roughly equal in quality, but taste being almost identical? What exactly is being smoked before tasting?

Stopped by the Lakewood location Saturday for the beginning of the OSU game. Lots of great offerings on tap (over 20, I think) but hardly anybody there. Seems like a nice place - will have to see it full some time. Should be more folks there based on the quality on tap

Cult following is a great IPA and a nice change from the fresh hop releases over the past few weeks - nice OJ look for a brew that would be perfect for the style if it had a little more nose.

Also had a smoked barrel aged stout that rivals the best from Jackie O's. Very well done.

Having Angelo's pizza a few blocks down makes for a good dinner (or lunch) and drink combo.

Yeah the La Tentadora is fantastic and I just had a Cult Following bottle last night. After having everything they've releases over the past 4-6 months, I'm constantly in shock they're not one of the most hyped places to be in the area.

On the plus side, being able to walk into either location and grab bottles all the time, of beers/meads I would otherwise have to trade for to get similar quality... I do love that aspect.

    just a one time shot.
The hops need to be overnighted immediately after they're picked in the field. Hop harvest usually runs from late Aug through Sept, with each variety having an optimum picking window. Some are ready earlier than others. We can usually anticipate Mosaic coming from Yakima between the second and third weeks of September.....which puts our beer out sometime early Oct.

What about another batch of Citra Noel? I still have quite a stockpile of fresh hop beers that will take some time to get through.

If it's anything like last year, we'll have Citra Noel through December. I believe it was explained last year that it's a "seasonal" in the way Summer Teeth/Festbier are.

Pretty much this. We have a production volume we're targeting for the season. Sales forecast might be accurate, but it might not be. Time will tell!
