Dark Lord (2018)

I've never had Hipe, but I hear it's really good and I'll also say it's the best thing I've ever tasted. Totally worth any asking price no matter how exorbitant. Also it is literally impossible to find which is what imparts the best flavor notes.

 

10/10 would trade KBBS for a small sample of Hipe.

What the hell is this guys??? I don't want to see this thread drop out of the top ten until July 2018.

 

I had some beer aged in Hipe barrels with fish sauce and it was fantastic. I got it from a friend who has a friend who knows a brewer who got it from a bottle manufacturer rep in Spain.

 

Did a bottle share of Rare 15 vs Ronaldo 16 vs BADL 16. I was surprised that BADL was decisively better than Rare. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Will never be the most sought after variant but it’s the one guaranteed lead pipe lock

‘12 was panned, but honestly, outside of the sweetness, it was a good beer. I’d be curious to see how that’s holding up.

BADL is definitely the most underrated of all of them. It’s always solid and gets no love. I would definitely take it over this years FVM!

 

Soooooo has anyone ever mixed base dark lord with a little bit of bourbon and a little bit of vanilla creamer, you know, for science?

I have not, but I'm incredibly tempted to drop a vanilla bean in one for a couple days. May give this a try this winter.

 

I keep a splash jar... vanilla bean, oak cubes, bourbon. Let it age together for a month. Put about a teaspoon (or more) of the bourbon in a glass before pouring the beer in. Done it with dl many times. Works beautifully

 

JUst so you all know. I hate you all!!!!! Over 48 hours and no rumors about infection, no talk of bands, no incessant bitching about totes, and no soy sauce comments!!! I thought you guys were better than this.
