Thought Binny's was 9.99 last year, believe they kept the same price as 2015 for regular. Outside of Costco for regular, Binny's prices are solid and they will have a good amount of supply.

Whether $10 or $12, it is still "cheap" based on the expected quality of the beer.

$11.99 is definitely an increase for regular. I've paid $9.99 the last 2 years regardless of the Binny's.

    20% increase seems steep. Damn!

I mean, I will gladly pay it, but I was just hoping that was wrong.

How much do you guys typically budget for Black Friday? I know picking up Rare will inflate it, but just curious how much is an average amount. I figure that most people will pick up as much as possible without a second thought. BCBS is a limited and very sought after item in my area. It’s basically a kill-on-sight in my neck of the woods. With the price increase...it’s tough to explain to my better half each year.

I usually figure a couple hundred over the coming weeks on BCS. I’ll usually do an early line thing on Black Friday, and then try a whole foods release and my local spot, both which do their BCS sales in December.

I also pass on all BW. It’s good, but I like Central waters BW just as much, and now that Rev straight Jacket is gonna be in 4-packs, I’m good on BA barleywine. I’d rather allocate those funds other places.

With only prop and coffee as variants last year, it was definitely a bit easier on the wallet. Having 2 more bottles, I feel like it’s gonna add up quick.

Really hope reg stays at $9.99.

I opened 2016 reg last night and it was the best one I've had yet. This is one of the few beers I like to keep around for a long time and grab plenty of.

Anyone at the pie event? How's this years prop tasting?

It was delicious. No line, we were there around 9:30. They give you a token for the Prop pour but then they let you go back up and have more if you want (I only had 2 pours).

Definitely better than the past 2 years, unless you don't like banana. I think the flavor works. Smells like banana bread, tastes exactly like you would expect (and better when warmer of course).

I'd guess they'll be pouring for at least 1-2 more hours, so get over there if you're in the area.

Nice and easy pickup. No line. Pie looks delicious.

Prop flavors - initial take, while pretty cold, is that the flavors are pleasantly understated. Slight banana as it warms up in your mouth, but not the sticky disaster I was fearing. I’m not in love with the aftertaste, but I only notice it when I’m focused on it. I inoculated myself with a real banana earlier in the day, not sure if that impacted the flavors.

Tasty. Prefer it to the 2014 I had on Friday.

Edit: as a note, I see people comparing this to ‘14 (because cinnamon)? Having just had the 14, I think they’re very very different. ‘17 is much less sweet to my palate. You get some banana sweetness, but not overripe gross banana sweetness. Integrates nicely with the bourbon sweetness, complimenting and not unbalancing.

Just got out, I had to make it quick so I only got one pour. I'm not too deep in this BCBS variant game, but I can tell you with no hesitation that this would have been the best bottle in last year's batch. I didn't get much banana, more like a boozy creme brulee.

I had to arrange to pick up my pie tomorrow. I wonder if I'll still get a pour?

Really good. Got there just before 9, but couldn't stay long on account of having a two-year-old with me. Flavors were muted due to the cold serving temp, but the banana was present without being overly sweet or cloying. Didn't get a ton of almond, but would expect this to totally shine once warm. Incredibly smooth and thick/fudgy.

Pie was also good. Wouldn't drop another $32 to get it again, but still damn fine. Curious what people are saying on pieadvocate.

Hoping someone here could help with a few questions. I am traveling through Chicago Sunday Dec 3rd and likely have a long layover. Is there a shot at me taking an Uber to a bottle shop that has BCBS or variants this far after Black Friday?
    Cheers

Odds are extremely low for variants. Possible there would be some known places with exorbitant prices that most aren't willing to pay if you have the means...

Not a chance in hell for any variants. It’ll take hunting, but you may be able to find BCBS. If not in bottles, perhaps on tap
