Its roughly $225 after tax at last years prices. No idea if prices will go up this year.

Yeah, that’s about right. There’s no crazy $60 variant this year.

Geez I can't imagine spending that much money on beer.

Then you probably don't want to imagine the couples lining up together that will blow $500

That sum for 2 people does put it in perspective.

Interesting that there's no Rare listed....figured they still had a decent stash of that left even after the pre-Christmas purge last year.

Is the dude with the BCBS brownies in line yet?

In all seriousness LP will be a shit show with how bad the rest of Binnys allotments are. Heading earlier than I did last year for sure. Let's hope for decent weather.

I think they announced it as around 1,000 last year - or at least that's what I thought it would be - and then passed out 1,100. So maybe it'll be about the same. Allotments sure are larger.

Sorry to keep correcting you - I could be wrong on both - but I think it was 144. 12 cases. More confident on this one. We were #180 and saw people with VR checking out as we walked into the room (and happily got Prop 14 as our second option).

That has no bearing on how much will be around this year though.

Just curious, what time did you line up?

if i was impervious to weather, time, and my wife (and not in that particular order), i swear i would start lining up now just to spite the same guy that's first in line every year.

Anyone who went to a Chicagoland Binny's that wasn't LP remember roughly how many full allotments there were (or what place in line you needed to be)? I'm sure the larger allotment will attract many people to LP, but I really only want 1 of each, so a non-LP store might be tempting for me.

It's probably going to be a mystery until day of. There are plenty of stories of people going 2 hours early and not getting something, and others (albiet less frequent) of people showing up at 9 and getting everything.

I know last year I went to LP because of stories in this thread and it turned out I could have stayed local and done better. Will that remain true this year? Who knows.

I'm sure it varied by store. The city stores will likely have more 'full allotments' than those in the burbs. For 2015 & 2016 all the Binny's stores were in synch as far as what constituted a full alllotment (# of full allotments vary by store) so this will be the first year where LP differs than the rest of them. You're probably better off going to non-LP store if you are only looking for 1 of each. Just need to figure out a time.

ETA:The contrarian theory is that the outlying stores might be the place to go this year given the LP draw.

I got to the oak brook binny's at about 4:30-4:45 last year. Was about 30th in line after all the Mules came out of their cars at 10 to 9.

I may be misremembering, but I think the line in '15 was longer, but you had a rare and a rye that year

Assuming jewel does another 7am release, hitting jewel and another binnys right after might be MORE profitable than LP.

What time were you there to be #180? I'm thinking of getting there around 9 or 10pm

Did they go to the end of the line or did they 'cut in line'? If the latter, that's f'n annoying.

They went to their empty folding chairs that were next to their s/o...it was annoying, but I still got a full allotment thankfully

Busy work day and just getting to this now...

Man. Insert picture of Tweak here. (the kid not the beer). This is all so stressful!!! The allotment at LP is freakin' yuge. I agree that this is likely to make a huge draw there and making me rethink things a bit. I'll still probably go for broke (literally and figuratively) and hit LP.

So parking...how much of a challenge is this? A realistic ETA for me is between 6-6:30. I'm going to have to drive in from the west burbs from the in-laws.
