According to my receipt from last year for the Like Whoa release, I walked up to Other Half at 11:39am and left with a case of beer with zero wait.

I hope to repeat that again this weekend. Probably wishful thinking.

With roughly 700 allotments, and 20 degree weather, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to.

How are people coming up with 700 allotments? Normal batches are 160-180 cases, so conventional math says at max 180 * 3 = 540. Yes, factor in some of folks not maxing, and it very likely could stretch to 700 but not 700 full allotments. Granted many of us would be stoked to grab a 4 of each at noon, but I think people are underestimating. The potato soup nonsense brought out like 700 people before they opened. OH/Trill collabs have been some of the best beers out of that building, I just don't think it will be a cake walk like others do. Don't get me wrong, I'll be stalking, and if available with little to no line I will swoop in but I don't think it will happen.

Oh my bad, I thought a batch was 250 cases for some reason. Even at 180 though, that is still 540 allotments.

So if there isn’t a great turnout wont the mules just keep jumping back on line? I don’t see these lasting until Sunday.

    1. It will be ~50 degrees colder
    2. Limits will be two 4-packs instead of four (I know one of the potato beers was lower, but that was the limit for both of the higher octane beers, including the three way collab)
    3. The biggest beer in that release was a three way collab with Trillium and Monkish - arguably the latter was a bigger line driver
    4. The four beers this weekend are all essentially the same thing (even though I know we’re going to have to endure people posting on here about how superior the T-45 is, while also referencing their “pallet” for extra credibility)
    5. Beer/teku releases happening at other breweries this weekend.

The above is why my money is on, not necessarily a cake walk, but the possibility of showing up and at least getting something after the line has gone. But like you I’ll be stalking so if I’m wrong no biggie and no need to go out in the cold. Thanks for the correction on case quantities - I too always assumed 250 for some reason.

I was going to comment on it being 4 single batches, but ran my coffee-less math and deduced that 4x170 would still come down to 510 full allotments at 8-4pks maxes.

Let's see (and please check my work @dhaakon ),

    30 bbl batch size * 31.5 gallons/barrel *128 oz/gallon / 16 oz/can / 24 cans/case = 310 cases. But that neglects waste, absorption, etc, and is a woefully inaccurate number.

It seemed like (back in the day) OH beers were in the 210-240 case range.

    For the Monkish Release:
651 8 can allotments of taters meant 217 cases
525 16 can allotments of twice baked meant 350 cases in the double batch, or ~175 cases per batch
465 16 can allotments of fully loaded meant 310 cases or what was probably a double batch of ~155 cases per batch.

650 case allotments of Like Whoa (easy on the math), or ~217 cases per batch, I think this was a triple batch?

From June 1 2015 FB post for GD and Equinox: Over 200 cases of each style will be available. See you soon!

From April 30 2015 FB post for AGE and Mosaic (damn, that batch!): We'll have close to 200 cases of All Green Everything and around 250 cases of Mosaic IPA.

So, more of it is in kegs for them to serve now, a couple cases make their way to Haymaker etc, and I'm sure "Friends and Family" are getting more cases, particularly as employment has grown! That's how we end up with these numbers between 170 and 200s

When does OH typically put the can release beers on tap? Is it always after they sell out of the cans? Would love to try the collab but I won't be able to attend the release. Thanks!

I tend to look at the number of comments on IG to determine how crazy the release is going to be. Their post for the Potato release has 600 comments, probably a ton of posts on release day asking about the lines / wristbands etc.

Currently, there are over 330 posts for this upcoming release and we have 2 days left. Although I think weather will play a factor in a sense, I wouldn't be surprised if the line snaked all around again onto McDonalds.

Like many of you, I was hoping to come down around noon and grab some cans but i'm not optimistic at this point based on the approximate allocations. Growler Sunday it is most likely.

That’s the norm. I wonder if that’s what they’ll do with four versions of the same beer though.

Looks like Brouwerij Lane will have Bad Decisions on tap tomorrow for their OH takeover.

    Hi I'm new here.

Going to be in New York this weekend and I'm staying 15 min walk from OH.

When you guys say your going to "stalk" do you mean you'll check social media to see what people are saying about the line and if its gone and there's still beer you head over?

    Yes,

EDIT: OH is usually good about updating on IG after the initial rush.

I was going to try and come up with something funny but can’t

Yeah that’s exactly what we mean. A combo of this thread and Instagram comments gives you a pretty clear / real time idea of when the line has gone.

Still time to announce tekus, hats, and tshirts. Also still time to raise prices on said items due to reaction on instagram.

Was Bad Decisions on the keg list? I browsed this month's thread and didn't see it listed anywhere but maybe my eyes are broken (and I strongly dislike the search engine on this site).

Yea it was on the keg email for the Cloudwater release week, all we know is that its an Imperial Stout. I'm guessing its either in barrels or bottle conditioning like Creamies.
