    Drinking my last two Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Naturally the picks that
    I got from the King Crimson show don't show up that great in this photo,
    but you get the idea. What beer are you drinking now?

    Sorry I didn't save this one for a Sunday review - Napalm Brewing Co., Linares (Jean Province), Spain - "Imperial Bastard":



    Love the artwork! At 100+ IBUs and 9.5% it is listed on another site as a DIPA, but the bottle label suggests it is a "Twisted Belgian Ale":



    If it is a Strong Belgian, it is beautiful with huge white mousse foam that never went away, and deep gold colour; nose is lemon zest and spicy coriander; taste is bitter lemon zest with light clove right behind (hops = Columbus and Amarillo); firm malt base (Pale, Caramunich II, and Carapils) supports hop and yeast flavours; zippy crisp and dry, almost champagne-like; super lite and easy drinking; overall, the perfect cross between a DIPA and a Strong Belgian Golden Ale, well balanced with bitter hops and spicy yeast notes. Most interesting find here (Spain) yet - I love it (and if I would get off my lazy butt and do the review, it would score close to a 4.75!)!

    Chilly afternoon (52 degrees) so we are hanging in the lobby with caffe, Sherry, beer, and a fresh cookie we got at the nunnery next door this morning:

    I was told this next beer was local (Jaen), but I think it is from nearby Cuenca - "Gastro", a Pale Ale:



    Smooth earthy hops, otherwise ok...I'm ready to switch to wine @vabeerguy ! Cheers!

    Pre-dinner beer, chouffe.

    I've lately grown a bit tired of Duvel and buy this instead. In fact, unless I travel or go a bit out of my way, I rarely get many different brews, at the risk of being repetitive.

    Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, fresh bursting with flavor awesome stuff. This is one of the few beers I look forward to every year it never disappoints.

    Busy day packing of for a trip to Beijing/Chengdu. Pretty excited to hit up Great Leap and Slowboat Brewing again. Casey Brewing and Blending The Low End. This is a really good and light Farmhouse. I dig it!
