Ok I thought I remembered it being later than it was. I just checked my Uber history, I got there at 5.15AM. Just looked at my ticket as well. #406. So sorry for the lies . If you really want to see pics of the ticket and the uber ride, I can post.

Edit: I felt like I got there too early and it wasn't worth it. I won't be doing that again. I could have gotten the entire allotment (outside of vintages) throughout Chicagoland during later releases. Binny's had Rare available forever and it wasn't like it was flying off the shelves. Similarly, ended up getting prop at another bottle shop. The only thing that I never could find was coffee.

 

Not sure how you got a VR though. Are you sure you don't mean a Rare? VR was gone a little in front of me (as I've said previously, I saw people with it, but when we got to the front it was the only vintage option gone, so we got Prop 14) at #180 / 11:30 PM.

 

It was def VR. The couple in front of me picked that up as well. This is why I wouldn't go early again. They were just bringing stuff out from the back and replenishing stock as we got towards the allotments.

Right...almost a year later and we're just now hearing of Binny's bringing rare vintage bottles out after they ran out initially? I feel like this would have blown up literally all of social media and beer forums if this actually occurred. People that camped out getting shafted and people that show up in the morning getting bottles meant for the first hundred or so?

 

Exactly.. I totally disagree with this strategy by Binny's.. Just seems like the wrong way to do it

 

Well you leave your buddies up int he line or just tell people around you that you are going to the bathroom or going to warm up in your car. Then get back in your spot with two tickets.

Look, I'm not saying that I act on any of these impulses, but they do go through my head....

 

I was #286 in line last year at LP Binny's and no VR or Prop 14 to speak off by the time I got in there to purchase. I did score bottles of BCBCS '13 so I was happy with that, .. but I asked about Prop '14 and VR and they said all gone by that point.

Just missed the edit window. Cuvée is still on. They also have coffee BCS to go. 2013, 14, 16.

$45 for 12oz. Yikes.

 

Everything was sounding well up until that last part of the cost. Yikes is right!

I'm going to try for this on my way to Frobidden Root, expecting to just miss it for the 3rd time in a couple months

 

So, a number of people have mentioned that Costco usually has a pretty reasonable size of Regular BCBS (just usually almost no variants, and what they do have is likely to be either BCBBW or Coffee, with a limit 1 as expected, and not lasting long).

That said....

Has anyone noticed if Sam's Club ever has had this (in any state)? I tried calling multiple today, and no one (even "in the beer department") has any idea wtf I'm talking about. They say no, "not this year," or "it's not in our system," but they clearly have no idea. -So, i'm just wondering if they have ever gotten it (surely they sell a metric ton of goose).
