Founders Breakfast Stout- Latest batch... Thin and artificial tasting?

yes i do, and maybe you got a bad set. but like i said each one iv had this year, and ive had plenty in bottles and draft, they've been perfect. go ahead and write this beer off for this year, leaves more for those who like it.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris do a blind vertical between the 2011 and 2012 FBS last night. His comments were reported to be:

"It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one of each up".

 

My verdict after drinking 2 bottles from the 4 pack I purchased over a month ago...thin and one-note; all coffee.

This is my first time having it in 6 years, and I remember thinking it didn't live up the hype back then.

One of the few Founders beers that hasn't met my expectations.

 

I thought it was a bit thin but it still had great flavor.

 

Can't remember last years batch but the two I had last night tasted great.

 

I did a blind taste test with one of last year's and one of this year's and 11 out of the 12 people said that this year's is a much thinner beer. the 12th person disagreed, then went back to eating paste and drinking coors light.

a lot of people are doing blind taste test comparisons between last years and this years but most beers aged a year will taste different

 

Mine tasted fine...

 

i didnt pay much attention to the dates on the bottles but i get a four pk a week and i said at one time that it tasted a bit different but i thought it was just me ill check the dates from now on still one of the best stouts out there along with northcoast`s old rasputin also worth a four pk a week

 

we accounted for that. still came up with the same results.

 

how? recalibrate your palate between bottles?

 

LOL, thats funny, please tell me how you account for a year age in a blind taste test of 1year old versus current year

IMHO, it's my favorite stout by far. Just my personal taste.

 

Right on, I'm drinking 08/06/12 too and it's fucking awesome.
