*makes popcorn to have the anthropological moment of monitoring lines from a distance* Enjoy y'all... you're stouter than I am for this...

I feel exactly the same way, but I remind myself 2 things:

    1) Beer nerds in Chicago don't seem to have a limit on what they'll do for whales (especially BA stouts).

    and especially

    2) Half Acre fans seem to have an almost irrational devotion to every beer HA puts out. Not a knock on HA, their beers or their fans (of whom I definitely count myself one), but I've been pretty surprised by the lines some of their beers have had (Big Hugs, GDDC, etc.).

But yeah, this weather is pretty brutal for a beer release this early in Nov. I swear Chicago can sense when good stouts are released...

As an official out-of-state fanboy, I'm guilty, @SeanBond - I think the only beer that I've ever missed in the last 4 years has been Beer hates Astronauts (oh well). But I'm just gonna cruise in there for a 10 oz'er after some taco lunch today...or something. Good luck Benthic hunters!

I somewhat agree, but I will also say that to many who have done this enough in Chicago (known for the bitter cold), this is kind of standard weather already. It isn't really surpassing any limitations. It has become the norm. Just get some coffee and have your winter coat ready and it is really no biggy.

Got here at 8:20. About 25-30 people in front of me. I’m the last one before the door to Wild Goose. MSU knit hat on if you want to say hello.

Yeah, that's definitely true, but even though today isn't Black Friday levels of cold, standing in line for an hour+ in these temps is something a lot of people wouldn't do for almost anything, much less a beer they'll finish in one sitting.

To be clear, I'll be there fashionably late (probably missing out on Benthic), and I'll also be around on Black Friday; I'm just saying that in general I don't think there are weather conditions that will keep beer nerds away (and you're right, these certainly aren't them).

Jordans and an iPhone would have people in line for days in negative weather haha. The only people to make beer nerds look normal.

Man I forgot about this. This would be brutal in this weather - I'm just not ready for the cold! I can't take any time off work for beer releases the rest of the year, but I sure am glad I get to read about them from my desk.

Pretty sure the first year I went to Binny's for BF it was colder than this, and I didn't prepare properly. Probably the longest wait of my life (I think I got there at 6am or so, with nothing to do). A hot bath that day was better than the 2 Prop '14s I got at the release.

I was thinking about making the trip, but then I walked my dog last night and said fuck this. I may try to head over for lunch, but we'll see. Its pretty toasty in my home office right now.
