2017 FOBAB

They ask that you don’t post any photos before the doors open, as in some cases the tasting part of the competition is still going on.

They’re pretty lazie faire about most things, but in the past that was one thing they were very clear about. Don’t post anything to social media before doors open, or risk your free session being revoked.

 

One thing we frequently forget in this thread: FoBAB is a competition too. Can't taint the judge pool by telling everyone what beers are being poured.

Breweries were explicitly told not to share it (some did anyway)

 

Has the line for Double Barrel BCBS formed yet? (kidding, sort of).

Whelp, my buddy has strep throat. Looks like I'm flying solo to tomorrow's morning session. This could go really, really well, or really, really badly.

Yeah, you made right call. But, also, lots of good beer with no lines that aren’t trendy.

 

as a multi year attendee this is the attitude to have. last year I had multiple pours of jester king in the general session with no line. they medal & now it taps during VIP. hunt for those gems!

 

The brewery as a whole doesn't do much for me, but Destihl's Dosvidanya Rye is pretty stellar. I like it better than the regular or the vanilla rye version personally. They're all very good though. Just a personal preference for me. I believe the rye and BB versions have won multiple FoBAB medals in the past.

 

Goose double barrel is fine. No big deal.

Goose line is nonstop cutting at the front. Lawless.
