Anyone else have a similar experience with this beer?

Off today celebrating Veteran's Day. A big thank you and raise of the glass to the sacrifices of all the veterans!

"Africana" Beer from Mauritius, the African Beverages Company. I think. Jesus christ...this is a doozy
    [IMG]
First problem..."premium lager". I've learned from beer experiments i'd rather not repeat that these things are anything but "premium". Next, what the hell does "Africana" mean? Admittedly, i think the can is cool, despite this made up word.

Next, "Traditional African Taste With European Technology". No comment. Plus, it's brewed and canned in fucking Estonia, despite the company being based in Mauritius. I don't know what to think..i give up. It's not bad for a lager, but there's more questions than answers with this. I love beer from unusual countries and was stoked to get this for $1.79, but the weird ass combo of Estonia vs Mauritius is almost too much. Cheers, i think

This is, I believe after confirming with the GF, one of the JO we got locally. They were costly in OH, and most are... relatively costly here. I can still grab this, I think, if you think I should.

I had this in my hands, and either figured I’d come back or left it in the produce section as I felt up peaches. Might need to grab some this weekend at least to see.

No. Wrong mg again. I’ll forgive you because, SHIT, it’s Saturday (somewhere).

That was a tasty beer, as I recall.

    Whew!!

O’Fallon Pumpkin Dunkelweizen. It does taste like pumpkin bread. A really good pumpkin beer.

Cheers, show us the Pipeworks, 18th Street, Mikerphone, Half Acre, Revolution and Off Color (the ones that I know of at least from IL that are doing well).

Gave away two of these, along with 2 Black Butte and 2 Backwoods (the recipients hadn’t had the latter 2 that they could recall). I’m thinking they’ll enjoy the porters, but am really curious of their thought on BB.

After drinking a 2017, I decided to crack a 2016. The bourbon has definitely faded allowing the beer to become sweeter and maltier, alcohol has subsided, and there's a much more noticeable green, smoked peat moss aroma and flavor that I've never noticed before. The 2016, as well as the 2017, are both drinking well.

Really? You know that the description of 1800's Irish premium porter is perfectly reflected in the 21st century marketing of a Guinness stout?
Please tell my 18th century ancestors in western Ireland that fishing is the way to go.
