What's your favorite style of beer after a long, hot, thirst-inducing day of labor?

For me it's a dead tossup between a nice Pilsener or a Saison.

I'd have to go with an IPA. A nice citrus forward IPA does this well.

I love my IPAs as much as the next guy, but I like to settle into them after a few pils, a saison or even a nice bitter. As for stouts and porters, don't like to do them first thing off the job; need time to relax first, I prefer the darker and heavier fare on my days off :stuck_out_tongue:

Not a style per se but Row 2, Hill 56 does it for me.

If we're talking about hot summer day thirst-quenching, I'd actually say real (from a cask, not a bottle) Faro. When I was in Belgium I had some at Morte Subite. While for traditional Gueuze they can't hold a candle to Cantillon, 3F, etc, that Faro was like an amazing adult beer lemonade.

But since I don't live in Belgium, I'd go for some sort of sweet American sour like Golden Canary. That's something I could drink regardless of whether or not I'm in the mood for beer.

Edit: Actually, scratch that; you said day labor. Sours are what I drink on vacation. For day-labor, I'd definitely go IPA.

This one hits the spot after working outside on a hot day ...a great Hefe with a bit lower ABV. Thanks Saint Arnold!

Water, followed by imperial stout or bourbon.

But really my homebrewed 4.0% 46 IBU IPA or my ordinary bitter.
