First tasting of a homebrew Saison named, " I'm a Grown Up Now!"--

came out great with a big funk nose and a funk finish. easy drinking! Gonna throw a bottle in the back of the cabinet for a later year.

in the remastered version of the movie they digitally blacked out the 8 ball of coke hanging out of his nose. I didn't think it was possible to be that high and still be upright let alone singing.

Happy Monday ba. A long Monday and in much need of a few beers. Having a few more fresh Singlecuts. This is The Punk with the Stutter, ddh ipa. It's got some to cool for school guy on a odd motorcycle. No surprise that the beer is spot on good. Nice sweet and fruity hop notes with a plush/soft feel and super easy drinking.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Monday back to work. A pretty slow work day as expected after the extended weekend, but it started to pick up into the afternoon. Bit of a gloomy looking day from clouds.

    Today's reviews:

This was really good. Nice head retention and lacing down the glass. Aromas and flavors of juicy mangoes, melon, peach, pear, and red apple; with balanced wheat, biscuit, light honeyed malt sweetness; with light notes of herbal, grass, pepper and yeasty earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy bitterness, fruit tang/tartness, and yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; really great bready wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel; slight hop sticky and fruit tangy. Minimal dryness, no cloying sweetness. Surprisingly flavorful, and refreshingly drinkable. Well made for the American wheat ale. Great balance of mangos and biscuity malts; with a solid fruity yeast profile, and just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. One of the better Blue Moons variations I've had. 3.78

Nice IPA. Murky with nice head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, lime, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, citrus peel/rind, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuity malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Bready/grainy creaminess and light hop sticky/resins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Refreshingly drinkable, 5.6%. I felt like could have been executed better, but I really enjoyed it. It has a nice hop profile, but everything seems a bit muddled overall. Not very juicy, vibrant, or dank on hops/juice; but a bit of each. Balanced malts, never overly sweet. 3.68

Really solid. Flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, and herbal hops. Similar aromas, but much more dominant fruity yeast notes. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Bready/grainy creaminess, light sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness. No cloying/acrid flavors. Easy drinking. The overpowering fruity yeast nose pretty much ruined it for me, but the taste was nice. Pretty unremarkable, but fits the American Porter style really well. Fairly generic tasting porter malt profile; mild hop balance with a bit of complementing fruity yeast notes in the flavor. 3.46

Blend #1, 3/22/2016. Heard this was sick/ropey at release. Glad to see it got better. This was fantastic! Insane head retention and lasting thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, orange, pear, pineapple, apricot, plum, strawberry, melon, red apple, white grape, citrus peel, coriander, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, and grass; with balanced wheat, honey, candi sugar, and white bread doughy malts; with lighter notes of leathery/musty funk and a touch of white wine vinegar. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; light lactic tartness, wheat tang, and bitter spice/oak tannins on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; bready/grainy wheat creaminess; with a fair amount of spice stickiness, lactic acid, wheat tang, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lactic/tangy/tannic dryness. No pucker. Super smooth sipper. Slightly warming 8.8%. Awesome mix of classic JK house Funk along with Fantome character; perfectly balanced spices/malts with nice oak barrel presence. The Brett complexity is absolutely wonderful and extremely intense on stone fruits/tropical notes. 4.23

When I come home from traveling I'm lucky if my wife and kids say hi to me (unless I brought home presents). My dog usually leaps through the air and knocks me down. He then jumps on me and continues to lick my face for quite a while. I know who really misses me when I'm gone. We actually video taped him after I was gone for over four months (before I had kids). It was awesome. He leaped from across the room and stood on top of me.
