There's the Indiana coming out in you! The MSAs may have began as part of government/census info, but it's utilized and accepted by way more than just that. But, I get your stance of feeling like an outsider to Chicago still.

This is the kind of hard-hitting and important stuff we need in this thread 6 months before DLD in order to make this the greatest DLD thread ever.

 

What do you mean by this? The way your post reads suggests that you think DLD has been on May 19th in previous years, or that they pushed DLD back earlier than it's been before. Unless I'm mistaken, 2018 DLD will be the latest in the year it's ever been.

By the way, this is a good time to link the all-encompassing DLD database. What's the link again @kodt ?

 

I believe he meant "moved back" as in delayed another week, not returned to the previous DLD schedule.

Ah, semantics indeed. It's tough for my mind to equate "back" with what is "forward" on the calendar. It's not like it was delayed due to extenuating circumstances, they just used a later date like they did last year.

Maybe they'll keep incrementally pushing it forward (swidt?) until it hits Halloween, bringing us back to furry land I've been to a Shelton Brothers festival on Halloween and wasn't even thinking about the holiday until people starting showing up with an unexpected array of awesome costumes.

This year Dark Lord Day needs to be fair and balanced. They should invite the fiercely anti-Dragon Abortion band "Dragon Right-to-Life".

As stout season gets underway, I’d like everyone to think not “what will get me through this winter,” but rather “what will i want to share with complete strangers in 90 degree sunshine while death metal causes blood to pour from my ears in six months”

 

This thought did actually cross my mind. Definitely saving a few things.

 

Yeah, I didn't want to bring up the subject soooo early but yes, some things are being stored away on my end already for DLD 18.

 

I always end up saving way too many beers, then I have trouble paring down what to bring and regret not cracking some earlier. I say pick 2 or 3 tops you really want to save, and then figure the rest out just before the event.

 

2-3 tops for the night before bottle share

2-3 tops for the morning of / line share

2-3 tops for the day of

2-3 tops for comedown while you eat pizza and smoke hookah at your hotel after

Flowers for your significant other when you return home.

 

I never save anything since obtaining my harpooning license. I just go whaling in the weeks leading up to the bloodletting at DLD.

 

The last two years, I barely had time to open a single bottle in line. I swear I turned down more pours than I got.
