Can't remember if I responded earlier.

I like beer and Jeeps. I like to say I'm on my fourth of each, but I'm currently at work so...yeah.

It's funny seeing old posts from people that have changed their avatar.

I never responded before, so I will now... Mine is an old cat-meme that made me laugh years ago. It's play on the classic Schrödinger's cat paradox of quantum physics.

I've had several avatars, some of which were very good, and some funny. I just got tired of changing them all of the time though so this one is Mozart's skull and I've just stuck with it. Of course now I'm more into Beethoven so maybe I can find a picture of his skull :nerd:

Interestingly, I don’t think I’ve ever changed my avatar in all my years on ba...

    History lesson time!

It’s Chief Francis O’Neill, the Cork-born immigrant who served as Chicago’s chief of police from 1901-1905. Although, apparently, an unnotable public servant, he had a love for traditional Irish music and ended up writing the book on it. Well, several books, in which he recorded firsthand thousands of traditional tunes from the various Irish, Scottish, Welsh, etc. immigrants in Chicago.
It was the first major written collection of a nearly completely oral music tradition.
Over the next half-century, for multiple sociopolitical reasons, traditional music in Ireland largely disappeared. It was revived later in the 1900s, and that is largely thanks to O’Neill’s books. Irish musicians were buying his collections and relearning their own music!
To this day, his books remain the Bible of Irish traditional music and the musicians of Ireland have a special appreciation for the city of Chicago and its late chief of police.
    Sláinte!

Is that literally his skull? Why would someone have his skull? Normally people were buried...or so I thought.
