I am really not creative at all, but my inspiration was a trading partner from when I first started trading who I have become good friends with. When I first made it, posted on BA and it went viral. Breweries and beer media were tweeting it, posting on FB, putting it on web sites, etc., it was pretty cool. Every now and again someone will refer to it on BA, but for some reason mods delete the post or link.

And for the record, the beer that had gone bad at 23 hours referred to in video is Pliny The Elder. Also, last part of the video about IP trade could have happened in the current crazy bad trader thread going on now!

People really jumped on you for this, but I think I understand your general sentiment. There's no doubting that the oat cream + fruited hoppy beers are more approachable than many of OH's other offerings. They're softer, sweeter, less bitter, more childish/whimsical in their flavor profiles. They require fewer "acquired tastes" to appreciate, so they can appeal to a broader audience. But for many of us who grew up on resinous IPAs that shifted our lupulin thresholds long ago, this new style can often be lacking that bitter punch.

Go grab the new Sand City beer. Very reminiscent of the traditional OH DIPAs.

I will chime in on Tri Test since there has not been a lot of chatter about the beer itself. Personally I think it all 4 cans are disappointing. Not in that they don't live up to the hype, they don't live up to the either a standard OH beer nor a Trillium one. The aroma on them is nice, they are nice to look at, the initial flavors are pretty good, but then it falls off a cliff. The finish just ruins them for me (to quote Ralph Wiggum "It tastes like burning"). A lot of folks were on Magnify's case for the astringent finish on many of their early cannings, and it may still be the case I don't know, but these are more astringent in my opinion.

I would rank the blend as the best of the bunch followed by the T-45, T-90, and the Lupulin last. If you compare these to say ACE or Citra Cutting Tiles (to somewhat compare apples to apples), both ACE and Citra Tiles trounce all four collab cans.

Will also note I went at 11:15am, waited 10 mins and was on my way. Surely the people who waited hours and hours for these have a different view because they want to believe they didn't waste their time. Surely many folks will enjoy these cans, some will hold them to hope the burning subsides, but in general I think this OH/Trill collab was not a success in terms of the product.

Isnt this more of an issue with Squares app automatically putting the option there? It happens everywhere and it makes me uncomfortable.

I do really want to head out to SC

But full disclosure - I was being semi-sarcastic. Just funny how there seems to be a sentiment that DDH DIPAs are now the old school / traditional option. Guys with teen zits and patchy facial hair in their early 20’s who had their first craft beer 18 months ago are now shaking their fist and telling those oat cream drinkers to get off their lawn

My question really stems from the little sign they have on the can table. Square probably auto-defaults to the tipping screen, but the sign makes it seem like they expect it. Was just curious.

Speaking of 'old school' Other Half, does anyone else feel like their beers are missing the signature hop bite in a lot of their beers lately?

I think I'm going to skip Florida Plates, even though I have gotten at least one 4 pack of every beer in the last year that has been available with a 20 minute or less line. $22 and fruit? No thx

I'm pretty sure I've seen a cash tip jar as well when buying cans.

Line is at recycling center. They still have tekus from last week, and they have branded bottle openers.
