What beer are you drinking now? #1854

At Boxing Cat (Shanghai) Beijing Taproom. Went with the 6 beer sampler. Weisse, pale, IPA, pils, porter and brown. A few are pretty good the rest are okay to meh.

Too early? pfft... it is Friday. [Recycled pic live beer]. Last one of these PW Close Encounters...really like this balance between a black ale and a stout. Hoppy, roasty. Will get again. Cheers all!

 

If you have a day off, you might grab some breakfast burritos. You might also have an Aslin “juicy” beer.


Not overly juicy tasting, though the aroma indicated it might still be. Well over ten days and this is still tasting fine.

Having a Deliria. This sister of Delirium Tremens is brewed once a year only by women.
That does make it a ‘lady-like’ beer. Strong, well balanced and not sweet like the original Delirium.

Rainy/snowy morning in NE Wyo.
This beer isn't helping. Time to look for something a little better.

 

Lagunitas brown shugga 10%. Kinda early but it's chilly in San Diego. 61• and raining. This brew is actually not that warm for 10% but it's working. The hops are really shining in this more than i remember but I don't think I've ever had so fresh. I think it's safe to say that Lagunitas didn't go down hill after the Heineken sell out. I think I will revisit the sucks next. I wish they still made hairy eyeball. Do they?

 

It's that kinda Friday . . .





Dark reddish brown like old copper, eggshell cap with good lacing.

Rich malt aroma supported by darker tone hops, lively in a strong way without being heavy.

Taste is where it shines, rich malt, and mostly malt, through mid palate where the hops march forth. Hops through to the finish with lingering malt and hops in the aftertaste with hops putting a period at the end of the sentence.

Definitely an Imperial style, this one strikes all the cords right in tune. At 8% and 80 IBU this one could be a bruiser but it's surprisingly agile, like a large man who turns out to be a graceful dancer.

 

I haven't had that one, but I'd love to try it. Cheers.
