Bottle Logic Brewing (Fall/Winter 2017)

Howdy! We've got a couple rad collaborations slated for the end/beginning of the year. The Great Notion gang is coming down to brew with us in December and Jonathan Wakefield will be back out in January.

We haven't locked down the recipes yet but our general approach with on-property collaborations is to brew a fresh beer to be released in a Covalent Bond can, and then something crazy to throw in barrels for a while.

What would you most like to see us create with these two teams?

Great Notion collab = GOLDEN AXXE (a Sega Genesis throwback Double IPA with 'super ripe' fruitiness)???

Loved double stack from Great Notion so I would love a BBA coffee maple with some type of nuts. I LOVED byzantine prior to infection so a mix of walnuts or hazelnuts? Not sure how pistachios would mix with the maple...

Have pecans ever been used? That would be my waffle house (from the southeast) dream.... coffee, maple, and pecans

Great Notion Ripe and Over Ripe are amazing beers. Pretty sure you could brew an amazing milkshake DIPA with them.

 

With Wakefield, FO base aged in maple brandy with coconut and Jamaican blue mountain.

With J. Wakefield I wanna see:

ALPHA HYPE PASTRY STOUT: Imperial stout quadruple barreled in maple syrup pappy van winkle bourbon barrels, rye barrels, brandy barrels, and rum barrels w/ vanilla beans, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, coffee, coconut, hazelnuts, peanut butter, raspberries, and chili peppers added

 

J Wakefield
10 to 11% RIS
aged in 20 year Pappy barrels for 9 mos

Toasted coconut, Mexican vanilla beans, Esmeralda Geisha coffee(whole beans), dried Morita chillis and Vietnamese cinnamom.


Rack the base beer out of the Pappy barrels in to bourbon barrels that held maple syrup and add all of the adjuncts except the coffee for 3 mos. Then rack the beer in to the brite tank with the coffee to maximize the coffee flavor for 3 weeks or so.

I like the little touch at the end of the checkout that makes you confirm understanding that BL is closed on Thanksgiving.

First time going to BL! Glad I'm heading out to LA for work at the end of the month. I'm unsure of the CA laws or BL rules. Can I bring beers to share with bartenders/others when I come pick up or are shares generally frowned upon?
