I knew a lot of NJ/LI folks lined up for OH beers but I never realized how bad the muling is until recently when I (regrettably) joined the Facebook "trading" group. From that, it sounds like most of the people lining up before 3 are doing so to turn make money off reselling. That bums me out as a local hoping to pick up a 4 pack after work. We have plenty of reasons to tease NJ/LI residents already, turning a profit from a local business not your own just puts a bad taste in my mouth.

This was in jest. I wanted to change the tone of the thread and refocus it on a topic less controversial

I am from NJ, and will be there before 3...but not bc I am muling or flipping these beers for a profit. It's bc I need to be back in time to pick up my kid from practice...but with a trunk load of beer

Totally understandable. I get lining up if you have somewhere to be. When I used to line up for releases, there would be plenty of people in line maxing out to trade or share with friends. They'd make fun of me for waiting for only a couple 4 packs. That's not what frustrates me, at least from the FB group, it seems like the line has been taken over by those looking to make easy money.

Every time I've been to OH for cans, I've never got the full allotment. I remember the first time when I was there, I would see dudes with a full case of every style wondering how the hell are they going to drink all that beer?! How naive I was....

Whats the point of paying way too much money to live in a neighborhood that happens to be walking distance to OH if I can't poke a little fun at the people who have to drive there? Especially since they're the majority of the jags who are hammered by the time I stroll up, typically well before noon, standing next to a 4' high stack of the now sold-out styles I was looking forward to trying, while talking about how the Jets are gay or whatever.

Also insults don't have to be true to be funny

I passed by two guys standing outside the taproom Saturday with eight cases of beer piled up between them. I’m sure they are just having a huge party.

I’ll be there after the line dies down, in my skinny jeans, looking for a half can allotment because real locals are too selfless to buy whole cans

If I was having a party I would buy one case of OH beer for myself. Everyone else gets natty light and box wine.

For the Jersey bashing, it probably comes up because those guys drive in with their NJ plates on their cars, park in McD's lot (which you shouldn't do), and then drive next the brewery to load their large number of cases. They just get noticed and there are so many of them...

interesting..the 1 time I went I saw more NY plates doing that.. but i didn't look too much..

i was blown away by the amount of people on-line with handtrucks and other methods to carry/wheel beer back to their car. I felt like an idiot carrying a case and a half of beer myself...

also is there someone local that sells speciality skinny jeans for the local crowd? was thinking i should grab a pair next time i get in line..being i dont max out it will give me more of a local feel.

Does the '4-pack after work' crowd have any shot at cans today?

I buy mine from an artisanal jeans-maker who only uses 100% reclaimed cotton in his denim. $600/pair but totally worth it

One major frustration I have with people lining up this absurdly early is that it signals to everyone else that they need to start lining up early too. The moron who lined up at 7:30pm the night before the Triangle Test release more or less prompted others to join the line that night as well, despite the fact that there was enough beer and glassware to go around beyond 11am. It's absurd. You don't need to line up that early, you are not going to miss out on beer by lining up 3 hours in advanced instead of an hour.
