No scientific evidence to back this up, but when OH releases only two cans, I think people are more inclined to max out whereas with 4 cans, you can buy a half case of each for two full cases.

they posted 'BEER IS GOING FAST' ON IG. It's like they're mocking us. Just lower the limits already. whatta joke.

Anecdotally, I didn't see anyone max out in the 5 minutes I was there

They have to rethink limits. I understand they are in the business of selling beer, but given their popularity, they would still sell out today even if it were a 12 can limit on each. If last Saturday becomes the norm and those who got on line after 8:15 were shut out of the mosaic daydream, it stands to reason that if you don't get there by 7:30 going forward, there's a good chance you get zippo.

My guess is they maybe produced 100 cases max. So they dropped normal supply with demand increasing which is giving a false sense of even more demand. They truly do hate us.

I’m sure there’s some sort of reasoning for opening early to do this. But 3pm on a Tuesday (albeit prior to thanksgiving) with case limits. Come on. Disclaimer - I wasn’t going anyway - but I’m irritated out of principle. Just seems like the system is purpose built not to favour “normal” people.

Don't panic everyone, according to IG there's still plenty of bottle openers left

lol, I would love to see OH try that once but I can also see this going sideways.
With can sales out of the Smith St warehouse, there would be this amorphous growing mob of people hovering near the line to jump to the end to ensure a spot in the front. Eventually this mob slows off the sidewalk and onto Smith Street and it's all fun and games to watch people jockey for first place until a construction truck blindsides someone.

Exactly! And the exercise of constantly running to the "back" of the line in an attempt to be first-served would help offset the burden of the two 400-calorie oat cream DIPAs they'll be chugging shortly thereafter!

I'm also surprised they sold out so fast.
I got there at 3:30, the line was puny af, compared to the Saturday lines.

Maybe saved a bunch for fills....Thanksgiving is a big growler day.

Maybe they should sell the beers out of a different door each weekend and not say anything until they open. Choose your own adventure. Pick wrong door to line up at, too bad.

A bloat (collective term) of seasoned hazeboiz could do some major damage to a truck

The case limits are a joke. They lose customers who would swing by after work this evening and spend dollars in the tap room as well.

But hey, at least the 150 people bought all the beer to re-sell or ship off to their bro's in SoCal for some Monkish

I didn't see too many people maxing out either tbh. Definitely a few guys here and there walking down the block with two cases, but I mostly saw people with small bags carrying 2-4 4pks. That said, there really isn't any reason for them not to drop limits down now that they have so much extra space. IIRC in the earlier days before the expansion the high limits were because they didn't have enough space to keep cans around, I can't imagine that's the reason anymore.

Anyone know how many cases are on one pallet? When I got my cans there was at least a half pallet of each left and I assumed they'd have another pallet of each somewhere in the back. Might give a better idea as far as case count.

Let's just take a second to compare to a brewery none of us have heard of called Tree House. They know they will be getting a gigantic ton of people coming through tomorrow before the holiday. And what do they do in anticipation? PRODUCE MORE BEER. They will have enough beer for at least 4K plus people to max out. 2,000+ cases of each beer. And they'll still sell it all out. Just think about that for a second.

Other Half in comparison just sold their beer to 100-200 people, keep that hype train rollin folks!

Not to play contrarian but I was there around 3:15 and I'd say about 3/4 of people were leaving with a case or more. Also I told the guy "Just one and one" and he grabbed me a case of each (I meant one 4-pack) as if that was the assumption. Equally anecdotal, I know.

But yeah, drop the limits or make more beer and all these problems (and hype??) go away.
