Oh right, coffee cart as well, I actually happened to snag the first batch. Had it on tap this past week, had to peg it down half a notch... Felt like it lacked a bit. I also thought LA Hat b2 was lacking, I think it was the change in profile this time around

I know its not an ipa but they have brewed and canned coffee cart multiple times as well. They have had multiple batches of different ipas as well just usually only draft or canned once

I believe thats Eric's work, great info in it. I hope they update the growler list as the growler list has been pretty damn impressive this year.

    Cheers,

Foggier Window on for growlers, stopped in on my way home tonight and grabbed my 2pp allotment and more of Xylophone Tones, which IMHO is one of the best doubles Henry has done. Stocked for the long holiday weekend and won't have to work around the inevitable can release shit show thats right around the corner.

    Cheers,

To the 300+ in line today, this is why I went last night, this may be the best batch yet of this classic, and don't get me wrong, I love 2-1& Lewis but waiting in line for it as opposed to simply walking in and getting up to 4 fills of it in October with no wait I ask, does it taste that much better because it's canned ? That is if your actually planning on drinking it.

    Cheers,

I've had 2-1 Lewis in growler & just picked up some cans yesterday and I have to say they tasted the same LoL. Also picked up foggier window growler fills too. Can't wait to crack a bottle open.

Did you happen to notice that Foggier ALSO tasted the same?

    ...someone had to do it.

Damn I wish I would have went straight to the line after work instead of El Camino at 2pm and waited for a pack or 2 of coffee Carlos. I ended up at the brewery around 615 and missed out on both... But missed out on some Lewis by 1 minute... I saw the last packs walk ahead of me. Coffee Carlos was damn good though

Hey monkish dudes. I’m going to be in LA Monday through Friday. Am I correct that Monkish generally do releases Tuesday? And what time does one need to show up to have a good chance at cans?

I’m from NYC and the Other Half releases can be pretty crazy with how early you have show up to get them.

    Thanks!

The days for can releases vary. They announce them a couple hours before opening day of release. You should be on your way over to Monkish shortly after the announcement. Follow them on Instagram and have it send you a notification every time they post.

Dude that commented above me is correct. Difference between Monkish and Other Half releases are that Monkish releases aren't announced ahead of time or planned. The format is literally "can release today in 2 hours!", or even sometimes "can release starting right now!" and you hope that it's your day off work. I've seen them do releases every day of the week, there is no consistency whatsoever to it. And even with the random announcements hundreds of people still show up.

As far as getting there in time to get cans goes, they open up at 4 generally for can releases, sometimes earlier. If you're there by opening you will get cans. I always get there around then and have never been shut out of a release.

Honestly, and I say this every time. It seems that if you want cans to trade, then yeah, go for the rat race that is instagram notifications. But their stuff on tap is awesome AF and requires no hanging on a prayer. They growler fill the non-canned IPA's and those can often be better than the canned stuff. It's cheap and they have an awesome fast system to tackle it. So regardless of making it to a can release or not, you can get great beer and take it for later in their growlers any of the days of the week.

Stop being a slave to the can chasing unless you just like flipping them.
