    Hey folks -

I've got about 50 trades under my belt but haven't shipped international or to AK? Standard protocol for packing and/ or shipping to Alaska I'm assuming but I thought I ask the community. Thanks for the assist!

    Cheers!

My #1 concern at this time would be the weather in AK. Check forecast and ship accordingly. Packing shouldn't really change (Ziploc + trash bag recommended always). Most people use USPS flat rate because it's significantly cheaper. So keeping # of bottles/cans to fit inside those boxes would be ideal.

I've never shipped to AK, but have to HI multiple times. I used the USPS flat rates with no issue. Actually, I sent one to HI and one to PA at the same time and the HI box arrived at destination earlier.

As stated above, cold may be your biggest issue.

Check your prices first. It may be considerably cheaper to do 2 or 3 usps flare rate boxes as opposed to one large one via FedEx or ups.

Thanks for all the advice - weather being the main concern, the trader wanted to pay for 2-day fedex so we got everything squared away.

    Cheers BAs

Like @jhavs ive shipped to Hawaii a couple of times and have always used USPS flat rate.
I was at UPS with a Six Bottle shipper that was going to Virginia. I asked the UPS representative to price it for me with the Hawaii zip code. UPS would have been $130.00. Instead I send it in two flat rate boxes for $38 and it got there faster.
