Honestly, I hope they cancel people's tickets the night before. Zero reason for anyone to try gaming the system at the expense of others.

I was able to get my second ticket refunded...no questions asked. I was surprised how easy that was, considering how they stated no refunds/no exceptions everywhere during the ticket buying process. Luke was super nice over the phone and very understanding.

Now I can head to Grand Rapids with a clean conscious of only having one ticket.

    Bump. Enough Bourbon County talk!

So what’s anyone’s game plan for Friday? I haven’t seen that much info for bottle release in Chicagoland, other than an apparently ticketed release at LP that I have no clue where it went on sale and a similar release at Open Bottle in Tinley that I couldn’t be online at the time of ticket drop.

I tried this and don’t know if there’s a better trick but the maple syrup goes straight to the bottom. So my first two-thirds was KBS and the last third was maple bomb city.

I'm gonna hit up two of the Jewel's by my house that are getting it on my way into the office.

Was trying to decide with all the beer releases whether I wanted to drop $25/bottle on this one. Of course I can't help myself so I'll be at the Jewel by my work at 7 am on Friday on my way in to work. Do you think there will be lines of any sort? I'm guessing the Whole Foods BCBS release will take away from any lines CBS might have.

Knowing the Chicago beer scene and my luck there will certainly be lines.

I'll also be trying Jewel on my way in to work Friday. Are we expecting a 1 per person limit?

Drive the 7 miles from my office to founders, grabbing 2 bottles and a pour then hitting a few other places I am on the list for.

Do we know what time jewel starts selling? I’m wondering specifically in the suburbs if that matters.

Edit: my apologies, looks like 7am

I'm going to Founders for the release on 12/9, but I'll still try to grab one or two bottles this Friday and next week. I saw the LP Binny's ticket purchase thing, but decided to pass on that, as I didn't want to commit to one spot at the time, and I know plenty of other places will be getting it.

This sounds like a high bottle count. Has founders stated how high the bottle count is or if it will comparable to the size of previous barrel aged backstage beers?

"Hi, yes I see there are 20 people in line behind me but I'll take 2 cases please."

It seems the bottle count will be pretty high. I keep hearing either that there will be tons and it will just be sitting on the shelf at Binnys for weeks like some other Backstage beers, or that it will sell out instantly and you need to camp overnight... no middle ground.

I would ask your Jewel if there's a city/village law stating what time they can start selling. I know the one by my house doesn't start selling liquor until 9am.

If the limit for CBS Dayzzz was only 2 bottles per person I can't imagine this is going to be a shelf turd.

    Exactly what I'm planning.

The only mention of quantity in the Jewel link says the Gurnee store will be getting 3 cases. Not sure if that's a lot or a little or what that tiny nugget of info means for other stores.

Yeah I'm not sure. I would be surprised if that's the norm. I'm sure the Jewel's in the SW burbs won't get that much. You never know though.

It'll be a mix. I've been told what some of the stores locally are getting and there's a good amount being delivered, but not so much that it's going to sit around like, say, Lizard of Koz did.

At least here, it sounds like if you want it, and you make at least some effort to get it, you should be good to go.

Given the clusterfuck that was Binny's for BCS this year, we must be living in bizarro world if CBS is relatively simple to grab on Friday.
