    Hi All,

New to the forum, but figured this would be the best place to ask. I want to send my cousin a bunch of highly rated New England/Boston area made Pale Ale’s, IPA’s, and Double IPA’s that I can get relatively easily in the metro Boston area. I’m looking for recommendations, thanks for your help!

Stock up on basically anything that sounds good to you at Trillium and then snag a 4pk of Sip of Sunshine at a store and you're golden.

If you’re willing to go to either Trillium location, that’s probably the answer. If you go to the Fort Point one, you can go to Fort Point Market next door (literally) and get Night Shift, Lamplighter, Fort Hill, etc.

Trillium Canton is the answer for both quality & convenience, also a tasting room for full drinks & samples.

If I were you I would hit up Trillium in Fort Point and then next door to the Fort Point market. Great selection and you can buy singles.

Anything from Trillium. On the lower ABV side its hard to beat Night Shift Whirlpool. I'm a fan of Idle Hands 4 Seam.

Agree with most of the above. If you're located north of Boston and don't want to deal with driving to Canton or into the city, I'd recommend making the rounds in Malden, Everett, and Chelsea. Idle Hands (Four Seam), anything hoppy from Mystic, and Night Shift (Morph, One Hop, etc.). All three breweries are close to each other - could make for a nice day of tastings. Otherwise, as @nolanz14 said, just go to Trillium and Fort Point Market in the Seaport.

Trillium. There are 5 top 250 beers available as we speak. (DDH FPPA, Mosaic FPPA, Congress Street, Heavy Mettle, Vicinity)

Funny, simplicity is always best. It's one thing if we are spoiled Bostonians and have to do the rounds in order to have a variation on the NE IPA scene, but if someone is new, there is no better advice. All of the recommendations above are good, but I wouldn't waste time running around, especially if the ultimate consumer hasn't had a bunch of the style before. Although, I was parked illegally outside Fort Point Trill the other day and there was definitely a force pulling me towards the Fort Point Market.

I'm not sure which of the posts above are kidding...

Trillium and tree house...... Even though TH is nowhere near Boston. Otherwise just listen to the suggestions in this thread! Besides the LH boomsauce

Trillium indeed. That's pretty much the answer for 'readily-available.'

You could also snag some Exhibit 'A' - Cat's Meow and Hair Raiser are totally legit and usually pretty available at craft beer shops.

Obviously trillium and th are the 2 big names. I would try castle island Hi-def if you can get some. It’s at wegmans all the time, but plenty of other local places as well. I had it on tap this weekend and it was awesome.

Also anything night shift (Annie Oatley was great recently) Lamplighter, exhibit A, jacks abby, etc.

Thanks all, I went to Trillium this afternoon and got DDH Fort Point, Congress Street, Vicinity, HEavy Mettle, Melcher st, and Farnsworth st. Looking forward to taste testing!
