You cant gouge beer.. youre always welcome to buy harpoon at 7.99 or sierra nevada at 9.99 or lagunitas at 9.99 or stone at 10.99 or even brooklyn beer at 9.99.. hell they even have founders six packs at 10.99 but @NewmansOwn seeks the hype beer at a low cost

Makes no sense. GI sells several beers. One beer and it's variants are very popular in some circles, but very limited and expensive. The other beers sell way more due to greater availability and being more mainstream. Each is a different product which should stand on its own merits. There is no reason sales of one should have anything to do with the other. If a beer doesn't sell, replace it. Again, GI reportedly has nothing to do with this ass-hattery. Why are the stores and/or distributors trying to manipulate the market? Just sell the damn beer.

Tweak is OK, but no substitute for BCBS.

I've lived in South Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, and now Oklahoma, and Oklahoma has had the slowest distributions I have ever seen. Not kidding there seems to be some stores here in OK that don't get Prairie releases until Indiana already has them. I finally asked one of the local beer shop owners why this happens and he said in OK liquor stores have to buy it from wholesalers and a lot of the wholesalers just put it up on their website and the first one to snag it gets it. This causes many of the stores to miss certain releases or get them extremely late because they are waiting for another wholesaler to get them and then have to out bid someone else. In my town (Lawton) only 3 wholesalers will deliver to them so we get all releases pretty late it feels like. I think Dogfish Oak aged vanilla stout was on shelves everywhere else almost a month before I saw it in Oklahoma. I've even seen BA Fidy here hit shelves waaayyyyyy after a release. I'm assuming it'll be the same for Bourbon County unfortunately. I'm going to Texas to try and snag it since I have to be there for Thanksgiving anyways.

BcBs is dropping this morning, very limited and no variants. Deceided to stay in bed, I didn't feel like standing in the cold for 1 bottle.

A store near me said 1pp Northwoods and BCBCS... people were apparently lining up at 11pm last night. I really don't understand it. I'll probably pick up a case or two or reg and BW if the grocery store near me is the same as usual: distributor rolls a pallet out and says have at it @$9.99

I'm living in a post-tradebait post-tick world, I feel like that new anti-iphone galaxy commercial where the guy in a trenchcoat is walking across the street from a hoard of people staying out in the cold to get 2 stinking beers (blueberry one sounds odd at best, and coffee can be replicated to a T by putting 2 fingers of cold brew down and pour a regular. It's literally how it's packaged so unless you're ransoming a trade, it's a good bevie but nothing you can't do on your own).

EDIT: to be fair the Reserve one does sound pretty good. I will put in a modest effort (and lose the trade bigtime) but may try to snag one of those on an IP.

Any Northwoods reviews yet? I am in line and can choose 2 from Barleywine, Coffee, and Northwoods. I'm thinking Coffee?

My area, they won't say what they are getting and how much. One place will hand out a list to those in line. We've only had GI in our parts for 4-5 years but this will be my first pass. May check out TW later for some other non BCBS related daily drinkers. No place is opening early either. Sadly the one regular from last year is still in My fridge. So I'll maybe break those out and call this year's hunt officially over. Have fun other NM BA members. One less person fighting over regular crumbs.

Personally I think the secrecy is horse shit. Tolerance levels not up for it this year. It's likely the stores and distributor but it just looks bad for GI. Or in their eyes, this horse and pony show is what they want.

Apparently it's very sweet and comes off as "fake" because of the extract use. However they've also said its still very unique and worth a try.
