Does anybody know if the clybourn tap room is packed?

 

Woke at around 6 today with a hangover in the burbs, and was planning on heading to either grand or LP m.

Checked the forums, and for the first time in 5 years decided it just wasn’t worth it, and went back to bed. I regret nothing.

Hopefully I’ll grab a bottle or 2 of regular over the coming weeks.

 

Random notes for you all:

* Meijer releasing regular with a variant possibility at noon.
* Liquor Barn in Wheeling releasing at 5pm, should have some variants and possibly given out via a raffle to buy.
* Just left Liquor Barn in Niles and they still had Reg, BW and Northwooods (28.99)
* Costco had a TON of regular in Lake Zurich

 

Turnout at Binnys EP seemed considerably lower than the past two years. After the initial rush, limit on regular was raised to 6, and barleywine and coffee were still available. They also were selling 12oz bottles of KBS (limit 2).

 

Busy, not packed

 

People now leaving LP that got here 4 hours after us bitching they only have 2016 vintage left. So you cut in line and are bitching about the vintage. SMH

 

While I'm glad I missed the mess at LP, I didn't do great in the burbs. Missed Reserve at Jewel, went straight to Binny's and missed Reserve, Northwoods AND Prop. No success on random local places.

In retrospect, I should have made a second pass at Jewel, they still had quite a bit of Prop and coffee left. Hard to know that in advance though.

 

Fulton is comfortable and has some nice vintage bottles for on site along with the 17 lineup

 

Significantly more intense than last year. Skipped the mess at LP again and shot for Grand. Was in line around 730am (wrapped around on Franklin). They ran out of Prop, NW and Reserve like 25 people in front of me. Coffee ran out like 5-10 people after me.

Walgreens off Damen was great - in line at like 1030 and was able to get a NW and Coffee. Multiple people were cycling through the line for the double (triple, quadruple) dip.

 

Yeah, this is brutal. I'm at the power station in back still.

I'm banking there are enough of these heathens that I still come away with something for this train wreck.

 

What bottles?

 

If one of my friendly Ba's could politely ask Binny's staff to update those of us past 1000 what we may be able to expect, if anything, that would be wonderful. I know that's probably tough to know, but some form of insight, even if it's "we don't know right now," I'd even take that.

There was some douche at Grand Binny's who got called out by security for trying to double dip while there was still a a huge line. "HEY JENNY, CHECK THE GUY WITH THE RED HAT TO SEE IF HE HAS AN X ON HIS HAND." He walked out with a smug smile knowing how he looked

I showed up to wheeling (old buffalo grove) binnys at 5:50 and was about 15th in line. They only received one box of prop which ran out just in from of me. It looks like they probably got no more than 2 cases of north woods and reserve. Overall it was pretty calm at the new location.

The line went over a few storefronts and surprisingly covered Fannie May, which was open at 8am! One of the customers walking out of Fannie May asked what we were waiting for and one gentlemen told her "it's the closest thing to actually being in heaven!" Then someone spoke up clarified that he meant beer.

 

Will potentially split a backyard but I think there is only 2 left currently, VR and Prop 14 gone for now

 

But no Northwoods and prop draft? What’s prices
