Is $13.99 the norm? I was seeing 10.99 to 11.99 locally. Then i compare to kbs, lag high west, and black note and this larger form as is is straight marketing bull shit.

I just recently Bought some brewery only modern times brews at above $1/oz and can understand that. But this BF crap feels really just like crap.

It's all about perception and trickle effect I guess. KBS, Black note, and lagunitas high west all feel within the same realm as almighty regular BCBS. I can't dispute that anymore. It's amazing but also overrated

None of those beers are on the same level as BCBS. It's not even close.

Okay, so, the Northwoods is definitely not ready yet. Anyone have experience with blueberries and bottle aging that can make a good guess of when will be the best time to drink it? I only scored one bottle and don’t want to waste it.

It's normal for around here. All beer down here is expensive.

BCBS was $10.80 to $14.99 in Sioux Falls, SD. It is more per ounce than some other BA stouts, but I believe it's worth it. It's about the same price as BA Fidy, and while BA Fidy is excellent, I'd take 3 ounces less of BCBS for the same money. And the bottle is cooler than a stovepipe can.

Both BA ten fidy and bcbs are great BA stouts and I'll buy a lot of both if given the chance, but I think I liked the ten fidy better. bcbs was $10 a bottle in Iowa and I think that's a steel.

Just wanted to say thanks for messaging back! I was going to go to Whole Foods in the South Hills (upper st Clair) but called Duffy’s and they had a 2 BCBS/pp limit and got what I was looking for. Didn’t expect to get variants without putting in the effort.

Cracked a BCBS with my father in law tonight and we loved it! What a smooth drinking, bourbon-ey Stout with nice chocolate and a hint of raiseney/caramel malt undertones.

    Thanks again bud

Just don't age BA Fidy if you like the way it smacks you in the face when fresh. Mine fell way off with only 10 months age on them.

Meh. BCBS is too sweet for me. I’d take KBS over BCBS all day, everyday. This is also coming for a guy that cannot stand dessert.

Kbs this year was way too thin. Bcbs is the perfect thickness for the style imho.

2017 is the best vintage in a long time. Way better than 2016 and pairs well with smoked meats. Mmmm.

Stone Mikail is $15/bottle (500ml) and I hear no complaints. Stronger coffee and more bourbony than KBS too (not sweet).

A few cases of the coffee variant made it to random accounts around Columbus. Hopefully next year we will get some more options...or at least more coffee!

Maybe they want the variants with additives in the bottle sooner to have more chance spot infection or for the flavors to meld?

The flavor won't develop, it's not a good beer. I'm sorry.

In 2015, the beer store I go to got at least two cases full (there were one-and-a-half left by the time I got there 3 days after the release, and half of one left about a week after the release when I went back for more) and I ended up with three bottles.

Last year, I came to the same store a few days after the release... not a single bottle in sight.

This year I just happened to be in the area around 3 or 4pm on the release date and they were already down to only two bottles left on the shelf. I don't know if they just didn't get much this year or if it sold out that fast... maybe both.

It's puzzling that the Sioux Falls metroplex has about 1/3 the population of South Dakota, and although we got a decent BCBS allocation this year, we got no variants as usual. Meanwhile much smaller markets elsewhere in the state did.

I will get my usual 3 or 4 bottles as always... No variants close to me here but the regular is fine with me. I like the beer a lot and always enjoy it. Its pricey but I consider it a splurge... I used to stand in line for it but have good relationships with a few beer guys and that isn't required any longer. Congrats to those who landed the variants..

Have to say I much prefer the 4pk/12 oz foremat. At least if you grabbed one it was a decent trip, price here ran $22 or so. The last two years here distro was for shit for whatever reason, 1 bottle limits no variants that sold out within an hour or so, price out the door $11 or so. It's a beer I like to have around , but I wasn't chasing it at that price, but I did pick up 1 bottle. The new bottle foremat is very cool, but they also managed to increase their profits while making it a bigger pain in the ass to get a few bottles. No clue why the distro here is so small, perhaps it's based on year round sales and I'm sure their other stuff doesn't sell very well.
