BCBS 2017 NYC Releases

Right but in past years they have all done releases. This year was pretty sad in terms of distribution but I can’t say I’m surprised.

 

That’s CTown and not Harvest Market? Curious if they still have any since this was so off the radar for most!

 

I wouldnt trust a word this guy says. 1. There are 2 C-Towns in Williamsburg so his comment isnt very helpful. 2. The "beer guy" there is probably keeping the coffee for themselves, like every other shitty grocery store in the city does. I have yet to meet a grocery store beer buyer who hasn't lied to me or tried to talk me into buying overpriced old beer. The only reason these places are still getting limited release stuff is because of the bridge and tunnel crowd.

 

The scene at M&M Gramercy is not like the LES release, there's a line out the door. It's already longer than the amount of Coffee bottles they probably got. I wouldn't suggest making the trip at this point. I'm a little jealous of the Pro that donned his Bourbon County branded beanie for the occasion.

Masha at Beer Boutique told me the distributor told her no variants were hitting BK.

 

Just got here and am equally as surprised. Guess I'll see what they have since I'm already here but not expecting anything

 

Haha the beanie ‘pro’ was me. Kinda upset got locked out of the Northwoods, oh well. Gotta keep eyes peeled for the few cases left...

 

How was ABCs release yesterday?

 

If your looking for Coffee, they still had at Whole Foods Chelsea as of about an hour ago. Had to ask for at the cheese counter.

 

ABC was crowded at the start; but mellowed some. They had Northwoods, 16, 17 and 16 Barley on tap. No limit on Barley ($17) / reg ($12)bottles. A draft got you a raffle ticket for a chance to buy coffee, not sure if they pulled winners yet (last year they pulled winners Sunday evening, I know since my wife won).

 

I heard ABC's release was pretty decent, was unable to go. I actually went to Monarch's release on friday, got pulled to win the Prop14 they had, but they kind of refused to give it to me and gave it to someone else, was not happy...

 

Annoying! When I was there yesterday, Whole Foods Chelsea told me they were sold out of Coffee---and they're sold out again now. They must have found more just in time for your visit!

 

We got killed by the gf mules this morning. They should really drop the limits to 1 per couple. It's not my fault my crippling alcoholism means I can't get a date. Well, it is, but still.

 

Anybody tried Northwoods here? It sounds disgusting to me but, then again, I never liked Regal either.

 

I heard the same thing from the two different retailers in Brooklyn I named previously in this thread. So either the sales guy is lying to at least three different accounts or there is is fact no BCBCS or other variants in Brooklyn despite the vague claims above.

 

I really liked Northwoods. I managed to get a tiny growler of it (12 oz swingtop). It's almost jammy, and is delicious. Discussed with 6-7 friends of all varying taste preferences, and all liked it a lot. There are a bunch of people who do not like it though and find the combo of flavors to be weird.

 

I do not have personal confirmation of this, but someone told me the weird place in Bay Ridge had, and Bk beer and Soda just east of the park had. But, why would Masha share that information, unless he was misinformed... (idk?)

Can't go one day without bad mouthing some establishment.. Let me apologize on behalf of the world that you don't always get your way.. You should consider opening up your own shop so you don't have to deal with every other bottle shop in the world but even then I don't think you will be satisfied as some people just love to vent

 

I’m perfectly happy with my $15 bottle of BCBCS I purchased from a local bottle shop. I’d much rather support a small family owned shop over a grocery chain that lies to its customers and rips them off.

 

Not sure when you moved out the area, but PHBW has had new ownership since ~June. That’s not to say those prices aren’t crazy either way. But thought you should know it’s different ownership giving the shaft.
