Also, I must admit I have a devilish grin having watched Michigan State absolutely bedevil the Tarheels. Actually, that's an understatement. I really hope the MSU defense can keep up this trend. Now I'm watching Florida give the Blue Devils the treatment.

Smaug Stout... Smaug Stout... Smaug Stout!

Mainly because it's fun to say over and over again*. And because Smaug is a dragon. Dragons could be associated with the devil*. And they both live underground*.

(*No facts available to support these comments. And now you'll go back through and read my comment again. See...you did.)

Either sounds like a suitable addition. What'd you choose?

Well, sadly I popped the Smaug Stout. Albeit a fun alliteration as you stated.

But, as much of a Tolkien geek that I am, this was not on par with the literary experience that Stephen Colbert and I have found in the series...

Pours a deep brown with a reticent cocoa colored head that quickly retreats to a delicate ring. Very feeble lacing.
Smell is very much in the traditional Russian Imperial Stout vain. Malt is sweet but mostly roasted, peaty, with hints of leather and rich earth. No cloying sweetness here. Ever so faint hint at a spiciness.
Taste is not following the smell. The malt comes through tepid, frail. I'm really not getting any "chile" except for a slightly spicy, green, vegetal note. Not much more to say here.
Mouthfeel is rather thin. No play of carbonation to mention.
Overall, I'm somewhat disappointed. If it had a little more traditional flavor and mouthfeel I think this could be redeemed.

And if we stop now. the next post will be the 6th of the 6th page as mentioned earlier. So maybe somebody can finish with a 6 word poem...

Had plans for this NBS, but, alas, a screwup at work resulted in a 10hr day. After the requisite number of "shifties", dinner, and a ride home with a couple coworkers, I'm in no shape to give an honest review of any of the brews I recently received from @jhartley .

    Next week homes, next week.
