Bruery 2017 RS/HS Allocations

Anyone have some flavor notes on Smooth Criminal?

 

Nothing impressive on RS at all. Meh what a waste of a sale.

 

I love this beer. It's like an easy drinking version of their Anniversary ale (dangerously drinkable). Even though it's a Terreux release it is NOT sour (at least not to my palate, and I do not care for sours). If you like the Anniversaries and haven't tried this you should go for it. I stocked up in the last sale.

 

Agreed. I also love White Oak, and for $6 a bottle it's a no brainer.

 

Just grabbed a BT Reserve. I hadn't made a Bruery purchase in months. Pleasantly surprised.

 

I guess Ill grab another scotch poterie. Loved that beer.

 

My apologies if this has been asked and answered (I wasn't able to find an answer via search) but if I renew RS for 2018, am I able to have my 2017 purchases shipped to DC starting in 2018? Or are the 2017 purchases considered 100% separate and I'll have to have them picked up by a trustee and shipped to me in NY?

I ask because I wasn't planning on renewing for 2018, but the shipping alone would be the cost of the renewal, hence making it worth my while to renew and just drive to DC to pick up. Thanks.

I do feel the sales were a tad weak. Seems last year there was a few more archive items. Maybe they are saving for 12 days of Christmas?

went to OG TR over the weekend and drank some beers. was disheartened that Mash and Coco is, again, a shadow of it's first incarnation. not sure if they can capture that magic again. more coconut?

that said, I was pleasantly surprised with Marzipandemonium. fucking great beer

Shit, that was a fantastic sale. Souren and Frambulous are two of my all time faves. Four each, done. Now if Ichigo Hwy or Mother Funker would return I'd be set.

 

I have a bottle of Mother Funker left, last time I had it I'm sure it dissolved the enamel off my teeth. I can't imagine how sour it is now.

 

I had it maybe six months ago and it wasn't particularly crazy. My notes: Did not live up to the shit show rep. Kinda not bad. Big white grape and pear flavors. Scalds only the outer edge of my mouth.

 

Interesting... I think I'll bring my last bottle to a share when I'm back home. I'm curious how much it has mellowed, but I don't think I could drink 750 ml of paint thinner.
